Red Hen Owner Resigns In Disgrace From Local Org After Kicking Out Sarah

It was indeed...just like the "choice" she made the evening she outted a customer who had already been seated and served leave...what a poor choice..No business to lose during this time of year...right?

Evidently not; because who ever goes out to eat, around July 4th?
[/sarcasm]

Just your opinion, she obviously lost business, she’s closed, but it obviously was her decision and she must be comfortable doing it.

Right. No tourism in Lexington, I guess....
Her suppliers must be thrilled with the lack of or cancelled orders....local people, in this case. Way to go, Steph....I guess the gofundme will take care of that and the employee compensation....thank goodness...

I'm sure she is concerned for both her employees and the surrounding businesses and is just waiting for the crazy bitches like Toxic to settle down and find some other bone to gnaw on.

If she was so convinced that she did the right thing, she would have reopened....
I wouldn’t for the safety of my employees to protect them from the feces throwers.

People will forget her and move on to their next object of hate.

How did the feces thrower (singular) threaten her employees? Seriously?
She made a huge mistake. She knows it...You should accept it....No one will "forget" what she did...She knows that...

Well, except of course for Toxic who will beat this till it's pulp. :bdh:

I would also stay closed, and pay them as if they were on vacation, till this nonsense blows over. Since it's now been made public that some of them are LGBT, they could be in danger from the RWNJs. She's gotten plenty of donations from all the Gofundmes to let them continue to be paid for a long while.

BTW, the consensus at the other politics forums where I post is that most of the shame in this whole event belongs to Slanders and the idiots who rushed to support her by attacking every Red Hen restaurant on the planet. Not that shame sticks to those slime-covered morons. Even a good percentage of the right-wing posters agrees with that.

Toxic Queen of Assumptions

But she knows all about the restaurant business, all about cooking, all about golfing, all about the NFL, all about teaching, all about dogs, all about.... well, everything. lol As she likes to say, there's a narrative/claim for everything she's expert on.

She'll be back soon; she's busy trying to find me on those other forums. lol

After kicking White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders out of her restaurant, Stephanie Wilkinson, has been forced to step down as Executive Director Main Street Lexington organization. Wilkinson is a co-owner of the Red Hen restaurant, and up until she kicked out Sanders, was well-respected in her community.

Her resignation came over email from the President of her local board who stated: “Considering the events of the past weekend, Stephanie felt it best that for the continued success of Main Street Lexington, she should step aside.”

The other shoe is also about to drop.

That will be the closing her of restaurant.

All liberals owners should take advice from gay servers and dishwashers. It’s the path to success!

Taking a stand against authority is risky, we all know where we're at in america, we're a banana republic where reporters are murdered and there's no free non-corporate press. And that's just a few of our characteristics we've taken on which we used to despise, at least rhetorically.

Good post!

All that said...the Dead Hen is still closed.....during one of the busiest times (holiday seasons) of the year....Why might that be?

"The Red Hen has been closed since the controversial evening in which Sanders was given the boot. It’s supposed to reopen on July 5. If so, that would mean Wilkinson and Adams have gone nearly two weeks without any revenue at the Red Hen. Would Clayton be willing to cut them some slack on rent during the crisis?

“Oh, certainly,” said Clayton, who owns many properties in the area. “There’s a lot more to being a landlord than just collecting rent. . . . I’ve certainly looked after them, and that’s part of my responsibility as a landlord. They’ve come to me before, and I’ve told them, ‘If you ever need any additional help, come to me again.’ And if they do, then they’ll get it.”

And

"It is my understanding that once the restaurant reopens that there is a 3-week waiting list, which means that once they reopen the money will come flying in."

Isn't it a sad day in this country where someone who risks losing her business by taking a principled stand is seen as a horrible failure? Disclaimer: If the owner had asked Slanders to leave because of her religion, race, orientation, or gender I would agree with those angry at her. Instead, Ms. Wilkinson took a stand for herself and for her employees, some of whom belong to groups disparaged by TrumpCo.

I have a strong feeling that Toxic and the rest of her ilk attacking Red Hen would have been equally gleeful in attacking Patrick Henry or B. Franklin back in the 1770s.
