Something we do know: defense spending is headed down.

German Foreign Minister Steinmeier said "I have stressed from the outset, in the end we need more and not less collective security. The Obama administration's move today is a signal to all partners that the American government aspires to such common solutions. That is the right way."

iow....you have no link or evidence to support your assertion that federal spending will be reduced as they are replacing the system with another system....
so you made it up, dare we ask....are you lying?
and the shield was not solely for iran....next
Too complex for you to realize the contradictory info from same source? If YOU were president, would you not err on the side of caution? Keeping all possibilities on the table, until YOU did have the necessary info?
do you have a link that federal spending will be reduced because of this? last i read, they were replacing the system with something else....
Yeah, I would errr on the side of caution in declaring war. Good point. Too bad the guy you voted for was more trigger happy than the VA shooter.
If you ban nukes, SMY, then only the criminals will have nukes!
You are correct. There is nothing better than our current missile defense system. We know it works because we have tested it over and over again. We have spent many years and billions of dollars publicly testing and perfecting our land based missile defense system. Obama is a fucking liar!!!

The system will begin to be phased in within the next two years, with the final phase to be completed by 2020.
The President said the system is "more comprehensive than the previous program" and "deploys capabilities that are proven and cost-effective."
The President's general-election opponent, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, told ABC News that he had not been briefed on the anouncement, and he wasn't exactly sure he knew what constituted the new more mobile system.
"I haven't heard of it," McCain said. The new system, he added, "is certainly unproven technology."
"The Missile Defense Agency will get $7.8 billion in funding for fiscal 2010, down from the $9 billion it received in fiscal 2009. The agency has averaged $8.35 billion in funding annually since 2002."
Let's see...9.8 minus 7.8 is....
Counsellor Yurt hath spoken, so it must be so?
I know you lied and have no argument, but why point it out if you're not ready to apologize?
