On this day of America's independence, let us take a moment to remember and pity all those home-bound patriots who cheerfully announce their holiday plans while sadly remaining home and alone, desperately re-posting the same social media shares over and over, hopeful that someone will notice and take pity, and at least put down a "like" so they know you exist. We understand your pain and wish you the best. We care, really we do! We care exactly as much as you care about the homeless, the immigrant kids, the hungry, the disabled, the LGBT folks, the brown ppl... we care just that much about you!
