Remembering Greg Lake

The Who were the first punk rockers...
ELP gave rise to bands like Yes and Rush...

archives is mistaken...
The Who may have influenced punk but the Sex Pistols were the first well known Punk act. Then it morphed into that God awful New Wave shit which wasn't as bad as Disco and it did spin off the New Wave Hookers video Series so I guess it had some redeeming value.

The first band to be called "Punk Rock" in print, were the Who...

Bands like ELP, Yes, Pink Floyd, etc, showed Rock could be serious music. Punks showed that it doesn't have to be.

I lived in Parkstone, Poole in Dorset a few streets down from where Greg Lake was born for several years. Robert Fripp and Andy Sumner came from there as well.

I thought that about the Grateful Dead. Their albums sucked. Then I saw them in concert.
I feel the same -although I found the Dead boring in concert too..

I can't believe this. Keith Emerson in January, and Greg Lake in December.. I saw them in 71 -outstanding
