Reply from a soldier on debate and Gays in the military.

But with the way men are, they will all be Mr. Right Nows. If you can't be....with the one you love.....love the one you're with.

thats hilarous.... never seen a fraternity brother of mine end up w/ a chick from the night before after he had beer gogles... LOL nope never happened.... not once.

When I was in my first "A" School, learning Russian at DLI, I met a *ahem* 'gentleman' who one time interrupted a story about my past to tell me...

"You threaten my manhood because you were friends with a 'fag'!"

I was simply telling this story:

Well, I was at a party over at a friend's house. Well, we have this friend, a major "flamer", we all knew was gay. He was over there clearly working up the nerve to make some sort of huge announcement... Well he stood up and starts clearing his throat and all...

(Every guy there was hoping beyond hope that he wasn't going to say he was in love with them.)

Well, he stands up and announces to the world. "I'm homosexual!"

Poor guy, the reaction he got was less than overwhelming, it was in fact non-existent....

(Here is where he interrupted me to make his big announcement of how I "threatened" his "manhood")

One of my cousins is that way as well. You knew within 2 seconds of meeting him that he was as gay as gay gets. This dude is really cool, really funny, successful actor, and my cousin, and I never really cared because gayness never bothered me anyway.

So about 10 years ago, he "comes out of the closet", and everyone was thinking, "we've known that probably longer than you have".

For him though is was a relief that everyone had figured it out and nobody cared because it meant that his relationships wouldn't have to change.

You could tell my friend was a bit disappointed. I guess he thought he hid it better.

For a short period he tried a bisexual thing, but that ended hilariously as well.

He took my, now wife, friend to a movie, Young Guns, and they wound up talking about which of the guys in the flick were "hot".

But if they were in a situation of being side by side in a closed quarters, in a life or death situation, feelings would develop. When you can go your separate ways the next morning, you're right. But that's not how battle is.

Your anecdote refutes nothing of the obvious merit of my argument.

Of course, you'd rather believe it's just GAY HATE so you can perpetuate your imaginary victim complex.

It's not gay hate, it's purposeful desexualization.

Then why do they allow women in the military w/ men then? feelings could develop etc.

is it that you don't trust the troops to behave themselves?
