I used to do these awesome parties...I talked about them over at Dp....but that is all gone now....it was mostly gone before COVID because I have ideas that the Regressive Left does not like....which is a problem when ones friends are largely of Corporate Seattle......this oasis is good enough for me.....this was worth building for me and my wife and my hounds even though it was intended to be for massive parties...as been a process.

When they try to cram to satisfy their curiosity, what they get is shocking attention-grabbing sound bytes rather than in-depth investigative journalism. It's pretend news for the short-attention-span crowd. They respond to we/they messaging; that's what sells product. It becomes a vicious loop. The fake news creates it's own demand.
At the same time, in our favor, the nation has realized that Trump is bad for us. We do mostly want to distance ourselves from him even if a large segment still wishes to cling to him. That is how we voted. We are a torn nation. Torn between wanting to do better, but drawn to the very things that prevent it.
It's a huge challenge, but America is hopeful that the new administration correctly perceives the problem and is working toward a solution. Naturally, there is no one measure which is going to fix it. It has to be a comprehensive approach over a long period of time. There is good reason for hope.

The Republican Party, their voters and office-holders, and fox news, are largely like a foolish dog, chasing it's own tail. They respond to their own worst fears, and they make certain to keep scaring themselves. Even if many of them would like to break out of the loop, they can't do it on their own, and there is no collective will to do it as a group.
