"If that was a planned armed insurrection, man, you had really a bunch of idiots."

My father was a Republican...although I am sure, if he were alive today, he would consider today's Republican Party to be the repulsive shit-heap that it has become. (So would Lincoln, Reagan and other folk like that.) My mother was apolitical.

My brother and his wife are VERY conservative and are staunch supporters of the Abomination, Trump. My sister identifies as a liberal. We all manage to get along very nicely...although we do tend to avoid political discussions.

Rightys never took Poli Sci. When I did, they said politicians have a few things to factor in when they are in congress. They do vote for their constituency. They represent them. They also have to factor in how that local vote impacts the state. They have to consider how the state vote impacts the country. And how the country vote impacts the world. They also have to vote their own values and consciences.
