Republicans were against...

life does not begin at conception under Jewish law. Sources in the Talmud note that the fetus is “mere water”

Demmycrats today are fully as informed of biology as were the rabbis of the Middle Ages...

the christian religion, more specifically the bible, claims that the life is in the blood. blood starts circulating in a fetus at around 18 days. If blood is circulating, then it's alive.

and now science has discovered this thing called DNA which neither the Talmud or the Bible describes (unless that "knit together in the womb" thing was God's effort to break the news to us gently).........

Modern Democrats have been for all of the listed freedoms. The Republicans, for my lifetime have been against any social progress.

Democrats were against ending slavery, started the KKK, and filibustered the Civil Rights Act(s).

apparently you have us confused with Southern Demmycrats......it was the Republicans who passed the Civil Rights Act..,

With Kennedy‘s insistence, the people of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina were pissed and left the Democratic Party forever

Hello Jarod,

Interracial marriage
Obamacare
Same sex marriage
Isolationism
Tariffs

I am sure there are many more, but they only move forward once society has left them WAY BEHIND.

Women's rights.

Republicans were also against fully funding the IRS. Think about that one. Since it got funded anyway, more revenue has been brought in, reducing the deficit. Republicans claimed spending had to be cut to reduce the deficit, but the truth was the IRS needed to be fully funded, which more than paid for itself in collected revenue. Thanks to Democrats, tax scofflaws are being forced to pay up. Republicans favor the rich shirking tax obligations.

And recently they went against an immigration bill which would have turned immigrants away if too many pile up at the border! IOW, Republicans went against something they had long been arguing for. Go figure!

Republicans were against even having a hearing on the nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court 9 months before an election, but then they turned around and rushed through with the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett a little over ONE MONTH before an election. Lindsay Graham said: "Go ahead. Use my words against me" when he said they would hold the same standards for a Republican nomination. Fine. He is a Republican liar. What good does it do to confront him on it? He'd just walk away from a reporter who tried. He doesn't care if he is a proven liar. That's OK in the Republican party now. DJT has made it 'acceptable.'

Hello evince,

Your Republican Party will die off because it’s full of lies and hate for democracy

It has happened to parties before

At one point we had a party called Democratic /Republican Party

You idiots have destroyed the Republican label by selling it to Russian cash

If that party was going to die it would have a long time ago.

It is being kept alive by big money and hatred. Neither of those is in any short supply.

Hello cawacko,

Jarod is of course trolling and two can play his game.

Depending on who you ask America is a fundamentally racist country, founded to protect slavery, and we are just as racist today as at our founding. The longest running political party in this country? The Democratic Party. So they are intertwined with this racist history.

I'm sure they'll try and say "we stopped being racist". Ok, when was that? A term we hear a lot is systemic racism. A big part of that is the claim that the criminal justice system is racist and unfairly convicts minorities, specifically black people. Go back to the 1987 crime bill. Hard to believe now but the Democrats, in an attempt to win back Congress, tried to paint Reagan as soft on crime so they came up with a very 'law and order' type crime bill which included making sentences for crack cocaine (which was devastating black communities at the time) very harsh. Who played a role in that? Yes, our current President Joe Biden.

The 1994 crime bill signed by Bill Clinton has been pointed to as legislation that locked up more black men than any other. Who was the principle writer of that crime bill? Our current President Joe Biden.

We could go way deeper but this is good for now. Putting either political party up on a pedestal like they are some deity is fools gold yet here we are...

Good job of cherry-picking tidbits to paint a very right-biased picture.

Problem with that argument is it had to go way back in time to try to make some kind of correlation about current day, but it isn't relevant because times have changed.

Here's where we are now:

Democrats stand up for democracy, individual rights and freedom more than Republicans do.

Democrats stand in opposition to racism. Republicans stand with racists in voting for terrible candidates hell bent on leading us into fascism.

Voters armed with facts vote Democrat.

Emotional voters go the other way, often based on hatred and misperceptions.

1) True
2) False, they ran to the Republicans.

if the racist demmycrats switched to the party that passed the Civil Rights Act they are dumber than I thought.....

if you believe they did YOU are dumber than I thought.....

Demmycrats switched to the Republican Party after the horrible Carter presidency.....I know that for a fact......I was one of them......you will see the same phenomena after Biden's failed single term.....
