Republicans will lose on abortion

Fighting against abortion is a losing battle. This was resolved 50 years ago. The country isn't going back to banning abortions, whether you want it that way or not.

It doesn't even matter if you could convince pro-choicers it's a full grown baby on day 0 of gestation. They do not care. They believe pregnancy by default makes women second class citizens, harming their ability to work/have careers, harming their economic parity with men, harming their overall freedom. They believe killing a developing baby and sucking it's brains out with a suction tube is a worthy price to pay. Of course, if you falcon punch them in the ovaries or put ru486 in their coffee because you don't want the kid either, they will still make sure you get charged with murder. It's only a human life when it is convenient.

I am not sure I blame women. If I was a woman, I'd probably abort a baby too. But that's me. Do people want to be like me?

On the other hand, sometimes I surprise myself. Maybe i'd be more principled.

It's impossible to say I suppose.

Lets just have the intellectual honesty that you value your freedom more than the life inside you, even if it WERE a baby. Then we can at least have a honest conversation.

However, from a strategic standpoint, re: republicans, this is a losing battle. We are not going to ban aborition. It's not going to happen. Keep pushing this, republicans will lose, and they will keep losing until they learn that women are just as selfish as men are, and are every bit as hypocritical, and suffer from just as much cognitive dissonance as the next person.

There is no such thing as true altruism. There is no such thing as putting others before yourself. We are selfish apes living a violent and destructive life, hustling and angling and looking to climb over the next body on our way up maslow's hierarchy of needs. You'll be scratched and kicked and bit and killed if you stand in anyones way. This is who we are. It is the most powerful motivating force in all of human existence. It cannot be stopped.

If that means a baby/fetus is in the way, it will be aborted.
This is a statement by a childless individual. There is true altruism, I would gladly die for my children or grandchildren without a second thought.

Jewish law does not share the belief common among abortion opponents that life begins at conception, nor does it legally consider the fetus to be a full person deserving of protections equal those accorded to human beings. In Jewish law, a fetus attains the status of a full person only at birth. Sources in the Talmud indicate that prior to 40 days of gestation, the fetus has an even more limited legal status, with one Talmudic authority (Yevamot 69b) asserting that prior to 40 days the fetus is “mere water.” Elsewhere, the Talmud indicates that the ancient rabbis regarded a fetus as part of its mother throughout the pregnancy, dependent fully on her for its life — a view that echoes the position that women should be free to make decisions concerning their own bodies.

Mwahahaha! Yea like that’s going to happen! LOL!

And yet, it did happen. :dunno: Do you ever tire of being wrong. :palm:

I'd be happy if the anti-science Left would just stop calling a human fetus a PARASITE, ... or ... just a Blob of cells. You're a blob of cells.

For an Israeli woman who wishes to end a pregnancy, the process is not only legal but is usually heavily subsidized or free, covered under Israel’s national health care system.

They always did happen, only they were more dangerous.

Pro Life in effect means Pro Dangerous Abortions. Conservatives should try running on that

Bullshit. Even in the 1950's, the high estates are that 200 women per year died from self administered or unregulated abortions.

So instead of arguing over not having unsafe sex, adoption and waiting until one is married, we should defend murdering innocents. Got it. ;)

So, use your own money to buy the millions of women who want abortions one-way tickets to Israel...which ironically, some liberals want to see destroyed by Muslim hardliners.

Imbecile.

No one that I know of want's to outlaw abortion. But abortion on demand must be banned. If there is a valid reason such as rape, incest, mothers health, just to name a few reasons then abortion is acceptable. But can't afford a child, ruin my figure, interfere with work, just don't want to be a mother are not valid reasons. In those cases carry the child to term and put up for adoption.

....and should not be a Federal issue, but rather, a State issue.
