I can't believe nobody posted this yet??? BTW it's been updated - there were two of them doing this. And the RNCC had confirmed there was an "ugly and deplorable" incident. This must be another one of those times where gambling was going on! Put on your shocked faces everybody!

An attendee at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday allegedly threw nuts at a black camerawoman working for CNN and said “This is how we feed animals” before being removed from the convention, a network official confirmed to TPM.
 
Here is an even bigger shock - the author of the totally not racist Voter ID Law in S Carolina caught thanking racist email about the law. <shocked face> Better get out the pearls we are going to have to do some big pearl clutching here Republicans! Try to act convincing!


"State Rep. Alan Clemmons, who authored the South Carolina voter ID law being argued in federal court this week, admitted on Tuesday he welcomed a racist email he received from a friend in support of the law.

Clemmons replied with “Amen” and “thank you for your support” after a man named Ed Koziol wrote that black and poor voters would “be like a swarm of bees going after a watermelon” if the legislature offered a reward for obtaining identification cards, according to McClatchy.

Shit, that aint nothing Darla. Go to Texas or a small town in the south or rural midwest and go to a pub or a dinner and start talking to a good ole boy about politics using the rights code language and you won't freaken believe the things they say and believe. This is nothing. The only things that have changed since the Jim Crow day is that these people know they can't express their true thoughts and feelings openly like they did in the past. It's down right scary.
 
So far, and they have tonight and tomorrow left to turn it around. I dont feel much excitement coming from the convention? Is it just me, I know I am biased...

Why that's only cause they haven't gotten to the part where they reenact a day in the life of an 1855 plantation - in the big finale they chase an escaped slave! So don't you fret about that excitement Jarod - it's coming!

What the hell is exciting about watching a bunch of semi-sober conventioners listing to what they want to hear?


Since there's no political deal making at conventions any more these are nothing but tepid dog and pony shows.

Yeah I know. I don't want to go to Texas though. It's been my experience that a bunch of good ole boys sitting around shooting the shit about the n words while pounding back the drinks ain't that save for white women to be around either. I'll just take your word for it!

Not all Texans are that way though they do have a long standing tradition of supporting people who are nuts. Oh well, it's like what I heard Molly Ivans say "If you take the fools out of the Texas legislature it would cease to be a representative body."

I know I am a bit strange, but conventions seem to do something, often we see a bounce or a bump after the conventions. I generally dont put much stock in polls untill after the conventions because the races seem to change a lot after the conventions, even more so than the debates.
