The fact that the democrats cut funding is a GOOD thing. They finally realized that it was wasted money.

And none of this changes the fact that McNamara was an asshole who deserves to be roasting in hell and that both political parties screwed the pooch in that war and other wars.

problem, viet nam was a member of seato, the real problem was the south vn government and its lack of stability and fullness of corruption

but, we never should have been there as proven by the results

Fog of War should be required watching for all military commanders and future Sec Defs.

I'm just glad he realized how bad his mistakes were before he died. It probably made his waning years even more torturous.

Sure a peace treaty that resulted in the massacre of 3 million south Vietnamese nice try dummy. You dummy again as I said I hadn't graduated high school when Nixon pulled the plug and I'm too old now so whats your point.

Liberals are simply vile people for the most part. I've successfully avoided the coverage as I have most of the man's music and videos.

The cowardice was for your avoiding military service at all. I didn't say you were a coward because you didn't fight in Vietnam.

If you had said something about him being a pedophile I would not have argued at all. I was found not guilty by a jury of his peers so you would be just making noise.

But McNamara is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of american soldiers. Do you actually think there is a comparison?

But its funny you condemn Michael Jackson for doing the same thing your church defended, aided and abetted those priests for doing.

I had thought you were against being the policeman of the world.

I certainly am. But you are apparently under the impression that we were in Vietnam for some noble cause. Those 58,000 young men died for nothing except the political plans of men who were not going to serve. Sort of like you.
 
Honestly, I believe McNamara ultimately felt the guilt that was rightfully his. I hope that before he died he found peace. Just like I hope that eventually Bush will find his responsibility for the people he killed in Iraq when they should have been fighting in Afghanistan.

You're a lot nicer than me. I hope he spent his sunset years in his own private psychological hell and will spend the rest of eternity feeling the violent death of each and every person who's life he's responsible for taking over and over an over again.
