Romney warns of "extraordinary challenge" to preserve American democracy

If you insist that I answer that way...then "YES OR NO."

But on his very worst day in office, Barack Obama was a much better, more honest, less harmful, more classy president than Trump was during his best day in office.

So...the inference is clear...if you choose to look at it. If you feel that Trump, on his best day in office was doing a reasonable job...I am saying that Barack Obama and Joe Biden both were doing a better job on their worst day.

Really. The inference is crystal, Anonymous.

Yes, it is. You have such a severe case of TDS you can’t quit Trump for even a few seconds to answer a simple question that has nothing to do with him.

Let’s try another.
How’s the weather where you are?

That was "B.T." AKA "Before Trump". Since Trump there has been this thing affecting certain human beings called "Trump Derangement Syndrome". We are now in "A.T" (After Trump) times.

Apparently it short-circuits their brains to where they can't do much more than hate Trump and drool. It's a real thing, and I hope not as extreme as what I'm portraying, but there is something to it.

It seems to cut off a large percentage of cognitive function.

lol. Just saw your post when I posted mine above. Yes, TDS is real and Frank seems to have a serious case of it. Bet he’s hard to be around.

I can see trying to make small talk with frank at the bar after a round of golf.
Me: Can’t believe I missed that easy putt on the 14th hole. I woulda had a 79.
Frank: On his worst day Biden is better than Trump.
Me: :palm:

We are having one of the best days of the winter so far today in central New Jersey.

Sun is shining...and the temp is 69 with very little wind. My wife and I just took a walk to stretch our legs. Feels great.

Romney told the crowd that he has a chart in his Senate office tracing the history of civilizations over the past 4,000 years. He said it is a reminder of how they can rise and collapse, and of how unusual American democracy is in global history.

From the Mongol Empire to the Roman Empire, Romney said, autocracy is the chart's "default setting," with authoritarian leaders at every turn.

"We are really the only significant experiment in democracy, and preserving liberal democracy is an extraordinary challenge," Romney said, according to the attendees, who gathered at the Hilton Hotel in McLean.

Tell us jackwad, were you one of those screeching that Romney had "binders full of women or kept his dog in a cage on top of his car?

I do not hate Trump...nor any other human being. I just think he is garbage...and scientists ought to do a study to determine why so many Americans buy his bullshit.

Not hard to be around at all. I am sure we could have a beer...shoot some pool...play some golf...have a coffee and bagel...

...and get along just fine. I'd love it.

Progress.
My therapy is making progress. It will take time though.

All thanks to trump. Did you really think that alienating all of our trading partners with tariffs would yield no negative results?

The trump virus shut down the economy from the aspect of jobs. People sat home and shopped on Amazon.

When the stock was depleted, trumps horrid foreign policies reared their ugly heads.

Why did he encourage American oil companies to slash production?

Was it you who said 'to save jobs'?

So which is it? High gas prices bad, or good?

I'll take "What is Not Good" for highest gas prices ever in America, Alex.

Sorry, but I think you're a wee bit afflicted by the TDS, Frank. I've been seeing you since 2014. ;)

That's a couple years b4 the Trumpster.

Just about everyone I play with is a white male of an advanced age...so almost every one of them is a conservative...and Trump fan.

WE DO NOT DISCUSS TRUMP OR POLITICS WHILE PLAYING.

And as with every golfer, I would feel horrible for you if you missed an easy putt.

Actually while yes he has TDS, he was a well-rounded individual before that, and definitely was educated before the indoctrination programs fired up.

Keep in mind he comes here to vent or largely troll.

He plays golf with people that like Trump. Ask him. :)

Owait, he already said it. :D

I avoid discussing politics altogether. This is my outlet.

My guess is that a lot of us use this forum to "release."

At my age...and with the demographic in which I run...discussing politics is like drinking strychnine. Most of us (my friends and I) avoid it like the plague. We discuss football or March madness...or movies instead.

I love politics.
