I can only hope to God you guys nominate him.
I picture the landslide as the moderate independents who swing elections and turned from bush over his attempt to only partially privatize SS, find out about Paul's positions beyond the Iraqi war, and I laugh. And I laugh and I laugh and I laugh.
But...he proably won't be the nominee.

that was bush signature issue in 2005, and he had to pull the plug on it because it was so unpopular. That was the issue that caused GOP numbers to crater even before katrina.

Bush's SS plans were mishandled and did not enjoy wide support but the efforst half assed and too short lived to affect his support that much. It was not SS that caused Bush to lose support.
This is why you guys will never win anything. When the people reject your policies you convince yourself that they really want the policy they rejected, if only they understood it better. If only it had been "sold" better.
You're like stalkers in that you can't get it through your head that you're not wanted. You're convinced that this time, you'll say the right thing and the person will want to go out with you.

What is sad is your pretense that I argued any of that. Just like bac, your off in your own little world, imagining things were said that were not.
I only said the effort by Bush was half assed and botched (what was the treasury guy he had out pitching it, Snow???, he was pathetic). Not that it should enjoy overwhelming support. SS reform will not be wildly popular. It will be a difficult sale.
I think you should offer your advice to the Dems on healthcare. The people rejected Hillary Care. Quit being a bunch of stalkers.
