Ronald Reagan Documentary

I doubt his secretary has the problem with spelling.

Honestly, it isn't the spelling that I am talking about. The only time it is important is when there are homonyms or names that are similar.

My wife is a wonderfully intelligent woman who also has dyslexia and problem with spelling, I would never correct her, except when it matters because of such things...

I live with some sentences being difficult to understand.

I wasn't talking about his grammar so much as his train of thought, I am sure a jury would be bewildered as well.

I wonder that as well. Maybe he's one of those when he's in the court room he has the ability to focus all his thoughts into clear concise points/arguments but anywhere else his brain just goes all over the place?

I agree that sometimes it matters. I do not belive that anyone reading my post belives however that I was talking about Donald Regan... And if they did, no big whoop to me, its an anymonous post on a discussion board. I appreciate your concern.

It doesn't bother you that you look like an illiterate idiot? Especially when people correct your spelling, and you just continue to misspell the word? That goes beyond stupid and into just pure lazy. Stupid can be fixed, stupid AND lazy, there is no hope for. If you ever expect to be taken seriously in your writing, you should at least make the effort to spell correctly. It does matter, because it is a reflection of your intelligence. Google makes a great spell-check add-on, and there are others as well, with computers and the Internet, the technology is available to help you correct these errors, but you have shown a complete unwillingness to learn... as if you don't think it's that big of a deal, but it is.

Now I personally don't care, Jughead... I had just as soon you continue posting like an illiterate hick, especially since you don't seem to realize how dumb it makes you look. But it intrigues me that you don't seem to mind all the bashing and ridicule you get from this, and that it doesn't make you want to learn how to spell better. I would be embarrassed, but you seem almost proud.

It does not bother me at all if people are not intelegent enough to know that spelling ability is not an indication of intelegence. Make your judgements as you will. I dislike the sanatized nature of our society, I like some "mistakes" and errors. Personally I belive our society is too sanatized of pock marks and pitfalls. One hundred years ago... spelling was not standardized and it was a creative form of expression. When I am not at work or in a work situation I wear wrinkled cloathing, and often dont shave, I dont comb my hair... I enjoy being me with all my flaws and not worrying about being perfect.

BTW stupid cannot be fixed, its a level of intelegence that people are born with, uneducated can be fixed, stupid cannot.

But spelling correctly IS a sign of intelligence. Even 100 years ago, there were proper and improper ways to write, and a person's intelligence was widely measured by their ability to express these skills. It indicates that you were competent enough and disciplined enough to learn the proper way to spell, which is rudimentary to literacy. If you weren't competent enough, and you didn't become competent enough along the way, as many eventually do, then something is fundamentally wrong with you in terms of your intelligence. Until you can become smart enough to learn how to spell basic words we use everyday, how can you be taken seriously in doing the critical thinking required to solve the problems of the day? Why the hell would your moronic opinion matter on anything? You are too stupid to spell, and too stupid to realize you need to learn to spell!

Just like Thomas Jefferson?
