Rudy is a Liar

He's not trying to keep the status quo, get your facts straight. right now his most passionate issue is trying to get health care. You tell me what vested interest someone like Krugman has to do that?

But it's very easy to see the interests of the very wealthy who are aligned agaisnt him isn't it? And see, that's your problem.

Not talking about the status quo on this one issue, but on the whole left vs. right slugfest through the mud that has been going on in ever increasing intensity since the Clinton fiasco (and by fiasco I in large part mean the witch hunt).... and Krugman most certainly has a vested interest in that.

and Krugman does the same as a left wing bitch with a vested interest in keeping the status quo.

What Krugman would really like is for the U.S. to more like Europe where intellectuals like himself are placed on a much higher pedastal.

In fact, he never did. He was a highly regarded economist who kept mostly out of the partisan fray until bush, rarely if ever addressing things outside of the economic realm. He has said he reluctantly entered at that time, because no one else was saying the things that needed to be said.

Global warming, healthcare, middleclass economic stagnation.

The cons will keep denying there's a problem, or minimizing it. Its what they do. At best, their solution (assuming they even admit there's a problem) is to let the free market sort it out.

Rudy and his GOP enablers are intentionally misleading. We have nearly the worst healthcare metrics in the developed world: life expenctancy, infant mortality, obesity, access to healthcare. This is the end game for the GOP. Minimize our healthcare system's problems, as a last-ditch, rear guard action to do anything substanive about it.

In short, the GOP healthcare solution is for you to get off your fat ass and exercise, and give you a tax credit for a healthcare saving account.

The right wing machine has succeded in discrediting science. And in creating right wing "think Tanks" so that no one can believe anything any more. So much for pesky facts.

So now it is all just a big liars club meeting.

nice blanket statement... that think tanks produce no facts.

I am not arguing his economic credentials, for the most part I agree with many of his economic comments. It is his political commentary that annoys me. Whether he was in the fray before or not does not matter. What matters is that he is in it now and he profits from it. Thus, as I stated, he has a financial interest in maintaining the status quo of this non-stop partisan bickering that has been intensifying over the last decade.

the same can be said of the left and their "think tanks".

Actually I don't think many would call the financial and economic changes they would like to see as 'status quo'.

The problem is Krugman can no longer lie without impunity as he is being called on it. Thus the rich irony in him calling others liars.

OK

YOU call him on it.

Demonstrate how he's lied about what Rudy said.

If profit was his motive, he could easily transition to a Wall Street job, and make millions

SF, you need to understand something about your president, Mr. 24% approval rating. People have been coming out of the woodwork to oppose him, because he's been a disaster for this country. On everything from foreign policy, to the economy, to civil liberties, to lying us into a war in Iraq. Outside the realm of you and the other 24 per centers, there is every principled reason in the world to dissent against Bush. And it doesn't have to be based on a profit motive.

I am using the well worn technique that when one has shown to be a liar before they are thus continually a liar going forward. I'm not arguing the specifics of this column. I'm identifying what I believe the rich irony of Krugman calling someone else a liar.

Krugman was never "shown" to be a liar Cawacko. The National Review smearers, who are still waiting for the wmds to show up, are liars, and if you bothered to read anything rebutting them, you'd know that.

The only person I've seen try to rebuke Donald Luskin is Brad DeLong and Luskin rebukes him as well. The Krugman Truth Squad may have started at the National Review but it has nothing to do with them now so talk of WMD's is irrelevant in this discussion.

Talk of WMD is quite relevant in this discussion about liars.

The National Review, Heritage Foundation, MSM, Limbaugh, Hannity, and all right-wing pundits and politicians were all liars about WMD .. which is a far more damaging lie with disasterous consequences than anything you claim Krugman lied about .. and I'm betting that the "Krugman Truth Squad" were liars about WMD as well. In fact, I know they were .. without even knowing who they are, I know what they are .. LIARS.

In fact, Krugman was not only correct about WMD and all the facets of the mindless invasion of Iraq, he was also one of the first to talk about the fraud of electronic voting .. which he has also been PROVEN correct about.

That ship you're standing on brother ... it's sinking.
