Limbaugh: I'll Leave US If Health Care Reform Passes (VIDEO)

If Democrats didn't have all the incentive they needed to pass health care reform already, then conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh may have provided the final push they needed by vowing to flee the country if the reform bill is passed.
Responding to a caller who asked him where he would go for health care if Congress enacts reform, Limbaugh replied,
I don't know. I'll just tell you this, if this passes and it's five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented -- I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica.
He left New York City, but would he really leave the U.S.?

It's funny that he couldn't think of a single developed country with UHC, so Costa Rica just popped into his head. No, not even the Costa Rican's stoop to having no UHC, and that's why they have one of the best HC systems on the American continents. No one in the world likes it, and the only reason the US doesn't have it is because of lobbying by the elite.

Thom Hartmann mentioned this and explained that Costa Rica has socialized medicine. No wonder Limpbaugh wants to go there. Plus he can screw 12 year olds there.

1. Do they cover non-citizens or do those people pay?
2. Can we have context? Rush often makes fun of the people threatening to leave the US when they don't get their way, it is likely he is doing that rather than actually "threatening" to leave.

Don't be a complete jackass... you most certainly cannot screw 12 year olds in Costa Rica. If you want to insult Rush, fine... he is a fucking idiot and deserves it. But don't backhand a country if you do not understand their laws.

all you nitwits can do is lie, lie, lie.....

Fing watermark. Now I have to defend Rush. He said he would go there for health care not move there. You can get private insurance in Costa Rica. It has become a destination for medical tourism...

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Hey, welcome from sunny Naples. Two part question for you regarding health care. If the health care bill passes, where would you go for health care yourself? And the second part of that is what happens to the doctors, do they have to participate in the federal program or can they opt out of it?

RUSH: Well, in the first place, none of that's going to happen for four or five years.

CALLER: I understand that, but if it does, what happens to the doctors? Are they going to be forced into a federal program?

RUSH: Yes! It's going to be the only people providing insurance.

CALLER: Where, then, would you go for health care?

RUSH: Where would I go for health care?

CALLER: Yeah, if the private doctors have to go into the federal program.

RUSH: My guess is even in Canada and even in the UK, doctors have opted out. They can't see anybody, Medicare, Medicaid, or what will become the exchanges. They have to have a clientele of private patients that will pay them a retainer, and it's going to be a very small practice. I don't know if that has been outlawed in the Senate bill.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: I don't know. I'll just tell you this. If this passes and it's five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented, I am leaving the country. I'll go to Costa Rica.

The next sentence from Rush was, "Well, I really wouldn't go there, but you get the idea." (paraphrased, he was talking at the same time as the caller at that moment too).

What's funny to me about this, is that it shows Rush is very well informed on this issue while those criticizing him saying that Costa Rica has socialized health care, are not. Not to be too hard on them because I did not know about Costa Rica as a hot spot for medical tourism, either.
