Besides disabling armored vehicles and blowing up fuel and food trucks, as the Ukrainians capture Russian ammunition, they'll start turning tank and artillery rounds into IEDs lining the roads if not placed in the middle of those sand bag barricades for use when the position is abandoned in the face of Russian advances.

There's no way a 150,000 man force can hold a country with over 22M pissed off Ukrainians defending their homeland. Roads will be mined, barracks blown up, snipers in every window and Molotov cocktails raining down from every rooftop.

I certainly cannot understand why there is any support for Russia in this purely aggressive senseless conflict which did not have to happen at all.

I struggled to understand why Putin would do this until I considered that his power stems completely from propaganda, and the truth was getting too close for comfort.

It makes no sense, his explanation that NATO was getting too close to Russia. If he didn't want NATO close to Russia, and he takes over Ukraine and makes it part of Russia, then that brings Russia closer to NATO.

But it is unreasonable that he has any concern at all over NATO being any threat. NATO is purely defensive. NATO has no policy nor plans of conquest. NATO simply wants to live and let live. NATO is all about preserving peace.

It's the same as the 1939 scenario: A free West vs. an Authoritarian East. This is why both China and Islamic terrorists, and supporters like Ms. Moon, support Putin and all freedom loving people support the West.
