Russia could have easily used live ammunition and shot this drone out of the sky, rather than risk one of their own pilots getting close enough to dump fuel on the drone.

That tells me how careful Russia is being to not provoke the United States. Their highly degraded military is very vulnerable right now and no match for NATO.

The Russian foreign ministry is practically begging forgiveness by saying they do not want this incident to result in escalation with the United States.

Perhaps it's time we put some of our best fighter jets- the best fighter jets in the world- the F-15 Eagles on patrol, to watch out for the Russians to pull that stunt again! The US has had just about enough of Pooty's Migs flybying and damaging our boats and planes.

We also need to see where Turkey is as our ally and fellow member of NATO, by asking them if we can set up a new Air Force Base in their country, so that this becomes routine.

If Turkey wants the protection of NATO, they need to do more in deserving their membership!

Agreed on all of the above. IMO, it's over exuberant, poorly trained pilots. One of whom almost got himself killed colliding with a drone.

Speaking of which, let's not forget this is a drone. Russia owes us $32M. This is a lawsuit, not cause for WWIII as the Trumpers want to see.

Send armed Reapers and tell the Russians we will defend ourselves. Remind them that attacking our aircraft is a NATO violation.
