and what it has to say regarding the Obama plan isn't so good.

Indeed, it's the private plans that today cost extra, (yes, meaning the 'elderly poor' can't pay), that are saving seniors from horrors. My parents now both gone 4 and 7 years ago, were able to have the best of care because they were able to purchase a blanket over Medicare.

Yes, they could afford to buy additional healthcare. What about the people who can't? Ryan's plan gives them the "blanket", but no bed....and the blanket, given the current cost of medicine, is short sheeted.

Now here's the deal. My parents could have paid for coverage without Medicare, as could millions of others. Take them out of play, along with their tax dollars. Leave Medicare for those that need it, even if all workers need to be nicked some to cover the poor, elderly. I doubt anyone would complain. On the other hand, what's going on now is massive taxing for the few that couldn't pay their own and all those that could have. The later group also finding the bridge coverage to be in the best places with the best care. Like my parents.

You're not makings sense.....if working poor people, who are indeed paying taxes, can't afford health care now, how in the hell can they be taxed more? How in the hell does what, $8 grand guarantee decent healthcare for someone who needs surgery or constant medication in addition periodic examination, or root canal along with a couple of fillings? Bottom line, medicare is a safety net....good on your parents for being in a financial situation that they could affford ADDITIONAL healthcare when they needed it, but they were the EXCEPTION and NOT the rule.

I don't get anything from the CSM, so I wouldn't be able to go to that source.

I have heard that Obamacare has taken over 500 trillion dollars over a certain amount of time,,,,, away from medicare.

I hope this isn't true.

Could you confirm that this isn't true?

READ the CS MONITOR article....then do some research as I indicated. I generally refrain from doing homework for people who foster an opinion when they admit they are not doing proper research, or who are reluctant to divulge the sources used for the basis of their erroneous opinion.
