Saw a good movie on Netflix: Hillbilly Elegy

Read the book. It's excellent. Quite a bit of his story is lost in translation trying to make it an interesting Hollywood Movie.

I'm very familiar with Middletown having worked in the area and his description of the lifestyle of the Appalachian Immigrants of Southern Ohio is spot on.

His own personal story of beating the odds himself is very inspirational too. It's a very good read.

I don’t watch them ever. I get enough reality out of life. I have dealt with such folks several times during my life. I like to watch movies to be entertained. That’s probably why I prefer Sci-Fi and Avengers type of stuff. Shoot, I don’t even watch the news nowadays...too depressing.

You should watch Hillbilly Elegy or better, read his book. It's an excellent read and I found it more matter of fact/realistic than depressing and his own personal story of rising above the limits of his background is really inspiring.
