Why didn't Hillary ever activate her government email service? Ever. Post-Nixon, she helped write the laws about government document disclosures...the same ones Trump evaded. She evaded those very laws with her private server and illegally evaded the law by using that same server to transmit classified material.

I am curious what law you think Hillary broke in 2018. The law in 2018 said any government emails sent over a non governmental service needed to be turned over to the government for archival purposes. The law also said that the person responsible for deciding what was government business and what was personal was the person that sent the emails. Hillary had emails that were retroactively classified as secret. That isn't a crime under the law unless she knowingly and with intent removed classified information from the government.
It is the knowingly and with intent that is the difference between Patreaus and Clinton. But beyond that Patreaus shared the classified documents that he knew were classified with a person he knew did not have authorization to see the classified information. While Hillary may have shared classified information she did not share any document that was marked classified at the time it was shared.

OK. So where in the FBI report does it state the the emails were forwarded to Anthony Weiner?
The reports I am seeing are that a blackberry device was connected to the laptop and backed up what was on the blackberry. Backing up the contents of one device to another is hardly the same thing as forwarding emails. The FBI also sent a letter to Congress saying they found nothing on the laptop to change their previous decision. That doesn't tell us if all the emails on the laptop had already been turned over but it would seem to point to that being the case. There is certainly nothing in the FBI report that says Clinton committed a crime.

Scroll up to the links provided. Comey testified to it. Hillary sent emails to Huma. The wife forwarded them to her elected official husband. Not illegal since Huma didn't know the info Hillary sent her was classified. That's in the links too.
She didn’t do that. She was also advised by none other than Colin Powell to have a private server.
That's not quite true nor did he say "exclusive" but interesting you want to make it Powell's fault.
The fact remains Hillary knew she was violating classified material protocols but did it anyway...presumably because she felt the rules didn't apply to her.
