Schwarzenegger backs state services to illegals

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says he's "happy" illegal immigrants get state services and says they're not to blame for California's $24.3 billion budget gap.

Schwarzenegger, an immigrant himself, says the estimated $4 billion to $5 billion the state spends on illegal immigrants annually is a "small percentage" of the deficit.

The Republican governor told The Sacramento Bee's editorial board on Friday that it's easy to "scapegoat" illegal immigrants. But he says the state's budget has a much deeper spending imbalance.

He noted the federal government requires California to provide emergency health care and education to illegal immigrants. And he says illegal immigrants often help pick the state's crops and construct its buildings.

Imagine what California could do with $4-$5 billion for their own legal citizens. What a fucking tard he has been for California.
 
Nah, he's dreaming. It's closer to 9 billion a year and that figure doesn't include other expenses that are difficult to measure, such as special English instruction, school lunch programs and welfare benefits for American workers who are replaced by the illegals.

Arnold shoud have pushed the gaming tax. He also should have fought for the farmers water rights over the enviro fanatics. These two money makers alone would have helped CA manage the numerous natural disatsters as well as the economic downturn. For him to to not take an economic stand agaisnt illegal immigrant spenditures at this time is political suicide and so grossly unfair to CA tax payers and workers.
 
There should be no question whether or not undocumented workers receive services. They should be documented and taxed like regular citizens. This is a problem that the right has caused.
