Not all areas of science are 'solved' at the same rate. Certain things are far more complex and out technologies to understand them evolve at different rates.
So we are still learning about the size of the Universe and gravity and how climate works, while plate techtonics and chemo synthesis and other areas have largely been solved for.

I mean the sun is helpless were I live and my utility bill is gonna be soooooo massive on my fixed income.
