In it he says flat out that Bush ,Chenney and the rest of the crew told him to tell lies to the American people.

"At a press briefing on October 10th, 2003, McClellan asserted that the allegations of Karl Rove's and Scooter Libby's involvment in the leak of CIA Valerie Plame's identity were false.[1] However, in excerpts from his book "What Happened" to be published in the spring of 2008 by Public Affairs Books, McClellan reveals that he knew statements were untrue at the time.[2] From the book:

"The most powerful leader in the world had called upon me to speak on his behalf and help restore credibility he lost amid the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. So I stood at the White house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby.

"There was one problem. It was not true.

"I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice President, the President's chief of staff, and the president himself." [3]"

This type of revelations will get a lot better the closer to election we get. New Republican dirt will probqbly become a monthly thing.

Lying about a bl*wjob seems so quaint now.

Ss if planet earth needed McClellan to tell us the Bush Administration were liars.

Like Tenet, Powell, and others, he's just trying to wash the blood of his hands.

Umm the truth of thhis book is that Scotty is just trying to sell books.
Can't let party loyalty stand in the way of profit.
Just your run of the mill Republican.

Dua...

Scotty would be a true hero and I would consider him brave had he come out about these types of things prior to the 2004 elections when about half of American voters were still dumb enough to vote for Bush and his lie machine.

this should be impeachable or illegal or something, i mean these people earn their living off our tax dollars and it should be illegal and punishable to lie bold faced to us.

This is nothing new. It seems as though whenever someone leaves the administration they are writing tell all books about how the president made them lie.

I'm glad McClellan turned, and not surprised. He never looked happy up there.

Bush is really one of the worst Presidents we've ever had.

Yeap its the republican way. Lie your ass off to make it and then sell the truth to clear your name and make a bundle. Truth means nothing to this New pack of Rs.

Republicans Like Paul O'Neil are the ones who deserve respect. He quit and told the truth when it mattered and they slimed him big time for it.

I'm probably related to Paul O'Neil at some point!

Random point of the day.

Now wait for the smear campaign against McClellan. About how he resigned because he was unhappy about something else and all this is just a jaded past employee trying to get even with his former boss. And all the Bush goober smoochers will tow the line and talk about what a piece of shit McClellan was and how the president should have fired him blah blah blah ad nauseum.

I wonder when, and from whom, did McClellan receive a phone call saying "Scott, what the fuck are you doing? You HAVE to change this. We can't have you saying that those men lied to you and you carried that lie to the public." The official release was put out with quotes around McClellan's own writing and now he is backtracking. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmm.
