Screw those who are essential and work?? The Trump shut-down.

If the link provided at the end of this post is correct:
Those furloughed federal employees considered as not essential and are not currently working for the federal government, can tide themselves over by gainfully working full-time if they can find such opportunities. They can also work part-time and/or qualify for unemployment benefits.

Those federal employees considered essential and required to continue working without pay, are entitled to work part-time if they can find work that doesn't conflict with their federal work schedule, but they are not entitled to receive unemployment benefits.

In most if not all cases when federal employees MAY receive back-pay, the state will legally recover any unemployment benefits they paid out for the back-paid period.

In summary, there's no financial remedy for federal employees that actually do work for our federal government during Trump's shut-down.
Does this seem logical to anyone except President Donald Trump?

Many furloughed federal employees can receive unemployment while on temporary leave of absence, but not all. Federal employees who are expected to report to work, even without pay, do not qualify for unemployment benefits. Federal workers should be wary. In most states, as well as D.C., if these workers collect unemployment benefits and then receive retroactive pay, they’ll be required to repay the government.

[h=1]We could use a Trump Shut Up not a Trump shutdown, because the idiot blabbers all day long; we would all be better off if he could just STFU[/h]

The impact on the economy is much larger than the earnings of 800,000 workers. Restaurants, shops, grocers and everyone else that supplies them will lose business. Their families will suffer. I suppose they will all forget and vote for Daffy next election.

Still don’t care

They should find essential jobs

Well then the shut down shouldn’t be a problem.

Keep it going

Nope. Work, whatever the job is, is part of the overall economy. It creates demand. It is the engine of the American economy. If you think we should eliminate millions of jobs because you see them as non-essential, then you have to understand the deleterious impacts for us all. You are crazed.

You understand little about economics.

You probably are an adherent of the broken window theory

Actually, I follow JK Galbraith's ideas, which I find eminently logical. His textbook was the one my college econ class started with. I read all his books on economics. However, economics uses the multiplier effect for determining what impact jobs, or unemployment will impact the whole. My college econ was over 50 years ago. But idiots like Laffler are modern and wrong.

Just as I thought. You believe fairy tale economics. Only an idiot thinks some thug breaking a window is positive for the economy

Just as I thought a stupid righty who cannot understand economics. Only a dumb ass would find people like Laffer as a real economist. You also have Moore and Greenspan. They are bombs in the economy.

There are more jobs out there than there are people to fill them. There is no reason why these federal workers can't find other jobs. America has lost over 60,000 factories since China joined the WTO, just think about how many people were out of a paycheck. They moved on and found new work, and these federal employees can too. The only difference here is the main stream media has a horse in the game this time.

Shut down yours. Rightys enjoy it when people suffer. If you worked for the government you would find out how important their jobs are. They work hard and put up with people like you. Their jobs are essential.
