Second Amendment Rights Are Denied For Some

AProudLefty

Adorable how loser is screeching for attention. :)
The First Amendment was almost denied in the case of Larry vs Shit Of The US.

What can a felon carry for self defense?
Protecting their home can be accomplished with other means than a firearm. There are certain weapons that felons can possess that are not considered to be firearms. These include a knife with a blade not longer than four inches, a muzzleloader, a crossbow, and a pellet gun.

In other words, it's a felony for a felon to protect his/her family with guns.

In general, a conviction for any felony offense will result in a lifetime ban on your ability to possess or own a gun. ... They include having your felony case reduced to a misdemeanor and receiving a pardon from the Governor of California.

Why is it necessary for them to restore a felon's right what is already guaranteed by the Second Amendment? See First Amendment.

Probably because a leopard rarely changes its spots. You don't go giving a twice convicted armed robbery felon a gun.

There are ways to get rights restored. I notice you're talking about California..yikes!

Here convicted felons are not allowed to have anything that can be construed to be a weapon. Maybe a bat.

Okay. Why is a person convicted of tax evasion denied the right to vote and own guns?

Nope. There is no due process for losing certain rights.

You can think that, but the Constitution and state do not. Oh, and by the way, they are the government.

I wonder how much more people in Cali have to pay is vs. the average of what people in all the other states have to pay.

Because it's a felony crime.

I'll add to this. There is no due process for owning arms. It's a separate issues. The Second Amendment says nothing about felons or anything.

So.... again why are they denied the God given right to protect their families?

Yes it does.

First Amendment: you have the right to say anything
Second Amendment: you have the right to protect your family

You need to read The Constitution a little more.

Some of what you're complaining about is covered in Article 10.

The rest is around that bail and due process area.

And then there's the CA State Constitution..:palm:

I know it's not a good situation. You have to follow the state laws though, because they're the state and they can hammer the fuck out of you.

You need to read up on Hustler Magazine v. Falwell. And watch that movie by Woody Harrelson.

We almost lost our First Amendment right. Goes to tell you

Well, CA is going to dictate what convicted felons can and cannot have for weapons regardless.

My state is stricter. Yeah, I don't like that, but it's been that way for a long time.

Any firearm made before 1898 that doesn't use centerfire or rimfire cartridges including modern replicas.

I would suggest the LeMatt revolver. 7 shots + 1 shotgun barrel. $950 at Cabela's

Out running the cops is a felony, even if there is no accident or threat to bystanders. Would you think if an 18 or 20 yr. old got busted for it, he should never be allowed a firearm when the felony was not violent?

Because they forfeited those rights when they chose to become felons. They also forego freedom (prison time) and in many states voting rights.
Membership has its privilege's.

So the Constitution does not apply to felons, even the non violent felons?

I agree that felons who've served their time and are not under probation should have the same rights as anybody else.
If they were considered to be permanently dangerous, they should have been humanely euthanized, not incarcerated.

So you do want the 2nd amendment ignored when it suits you.
