Congress will be more likely to negotiate on a second coronavirus relief package after President Trump leaves office in January, President-elect Joe Biden said Wednesday.
“Hopefully, when he’s gone, they will be more willing to do what they know should be done - has to be done - in order to save the communities they live in,” President-elect Joe Biden said.
President-elect Biden is expected to take office on Jan. 20, 2021 and experts predict there likely won’t be additional direct payments until the first quarter of 2021.
That could also depend on whether Republicans retain control of the Senate, something that won’t be certain until the Jan. 5 runoff for two U.S. Senate seats in Georgia.
