Senate Bill 1959 to Criminalize Thoughts, Blogs, Books and Free Speech in America

I'm not saying you should wait until a law specifically criminalizes, I'm just saying that you shouldn't misrepresent the law that you oppose. It undermines your credibility.

I'm not the slightest bit interested in "credibility", I'm offering my perspective, and that perspective is shared by a lot of people on both sides of the aisle. If many refuse to see or ignores this for whatever reason, that would be typical .. and expected. No news there.

The devil is in the interpretation, but if you don't see that, it's not my problem.

6 people =/= a lot

1 Senate vote against the Patriot Act =/= a lot either.

Your point?

My point is that I don't see where you are getting the idea that "a lot" of people from both sides agree with you.

I, for one, have been predicting fascism or an analog of fascism for some time now in America, and I really don't have a problem with it.

It is just a reaction from the frustrated masses.

It's not 'fascism', it's called 'Homeland Security'... you terrorist.

It isn't fascism yet, but it will get there--- not "fascism" as the Democrats use it against Republicans, but actual fascism.

At least the US military's uniforms will look a whole lot cooler.

I did not say a lot of people in CONGRESS agreed with me

Do research first, then try to find holes.

You not having a problem with facism is not news.

What is facism? I thought we were discussing fascism.

And I suppose I do have some problems with fascism, which is why NC is such a better idea (albeit a work in progress).

I love how our little journalist calls himself Gonzo which harkens to a famous very liberal journalist.

Kinda funny given his proclivities.

Hunter Thompson would have hated you as much as he hated anything--- he was beyond the partisan hackery that you and most of the others on this board are so in love with.

Not hardley damo..........

There is particular discomfort considering I run one of those sites.

rest assured you are not on the list...freedom of speech is not the issue in this bill...it is anti-American Communistic/terrorist rhetoric/action that is the issue...:)

Yes and anything that criticizes Bush et al is anti-american and we should all be on the watch list.

That's deep.

But recognize what the historical significance will be of what is unfolding before your eyes. Welcome to 1939 Germany, complete with the Reichstag Fire. And, like the German people of that era, the American people are equally as clueless.

Pay attention my brother, and don't fall for the okey-doke because there is far more there than what you see.

I'm sorry to do this to you if you don't already know, but I'm about to make your day even worse.

The Bill looks like a precursor, something put in place that can be activated immediately and quietly. The other stuff you pointed out is nightmarish. Throw in Blackwater and it gets outright frightening.

The bill does not in any shape or form take away the right to bear arms! This issue should be addressed to the bleeding Heart Liberals...who would love to see this right abolished...talk about control...if this right were abolished...we would become Nazi Germany! and yes all conservative books would be burned along with all religion being abolished...did I make your day...sir?
