It's not anything else but America's sick obsession with weapons of war. Weapons meant not to "defend yourself", a hand-held can do that - NO, these are fetishes for soulless piles of shit who care more about toting their big guns around than they do the health and safety of our children.

This will be my last post on this thread. And on this subject. I can't make my feelings any more clear.

I wish us all peace - and if you're having trouble getting through this one, like I am.. I totally understand.

Tonight was different…..
Tonight we didn’t argue about bath time.
Tonight we didn’t fuss on bed time.
Tonight I didn’t mention the mess of toys.
Tonight I skipped the house chores & watched Tv with you instead.
Tonight we didn’t rush our routine, we took the extra time to smile & laugh a little longer.
Tonight I overly mention how much I love you.
Tonight I let you lay with me.
Tonight I hold you a little tighter.
Tonight I stop & realize this won’t be how 19 homes will end tonight…….
Tonight 19 beds are empty.
Tonight 19 plates are missing at the table.
Tonight 19 baths/showers won’t be ran.
Tonight 19 bedrooms will stay the mess it was left this morning.
Tonight 19 favorite shows/movies won’t be watched. Games won’t be played. Homework won’t be done.
Tonight 19 homes will fill with tears & cries instead of laughs & smiles.
Tonight 19 homes are different…..
I pray for each household hurting tonight.
I can barely bare the thought without watery eyes…. Mommies & Daddies remember life is as short as blink of an eye. Sometimes we get caught up in our daily routines not realizing it can come to a complete stop. May we never take for granted something as small as our children coming home from school every day.

Damn, this is blowing up against law enforcement who delayed going in for at least 40 min and also held parents back who wanted to go in and save their kids since the cops wouldn't do it. Good guys with guns chickened the fuck out big time. Parents said there was no shooting coming from inside for awhile and then it started and they could hear children screaming which means cops had time to save some lives but did nothing for too long.

We need to stop the madness. Einstein is famous for saying "Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again expecting different results." That's what We, the People are doing with a mental health crisis killing about 80,000 Americans/year*. This doesn't include the idiots whose lives are ruined because they are going to prison for 1/6 or involved in a plot to raid a pizza porn shop or overthrow the nation to "Make America White Again". All those fucking morons could benefit from a mental health program along with their regular health care plans.

They certainly don't like the mental health angle since they often demean it as a RW trick or hypocrisy. Obama only added mental health after multiple attempts to forge a gun ban bill failed*. They never put the common denominator of together for both "gun violence" suicides and non-gun suicides that claimed 45,979 American lives in 2020.

Regardless it remains a curiosity to me. Understanding why they don't care about people like Robin Williams, Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain and the other 24K+ Americans killing themselves using non-gun means might help me bridge the gap of understanding the Modern Democrat. :thup:

Those are guidelines, not rules. The NRA has rules in place, even when the Secret Service has nothing to do with it. No sane organization would have thousands of armed people stuffed together in a small area.
