There is no Secret Service ban. If there was, Presidents could not go hunting, and skeet shooting. Several Presidents have enjoyed both events.

In Buffalo, the "good guy with a gun" had guts, bought his customers time and tried to take down the perp. It didn't work out well. Would've, could've, should've does NOT support the sheer idiocy of maintaining formally banned assault rifles on the open market. We've seen the results of this for the last 30 years.

OK, I will work with you. We can have a choice. You say every student, even 3 year old pre-school students, should always carry a fully automatic AR-15, and I say that the NRA (and similar) organizations should be designated terrorist groups.

Now I know my solution seems a bit extreme at first, but remember they have been linked to terrorism more times than Al Qaeda, and they do have an ideology that involves the violent overthrow of the US Government. We have outlawed similar groups before. It might seem extreme at first, but it starts making sense....

Especially when we realize the only other choice is that any four year old throwing a temper tantrum will kill 10 to 20 people. Millions would die. Our whole society will collapse. Then outlawing a terrorist group seems minor by comparison.

We should give that choice to America, and see which way they go.
