His record came up when they ran his plates. They didn't just jump out and start shooting at him.

There are at most maybe 12 bad shootings a year. Police have an excellent record, especially considering how many are killed or wounded every year, out of many thousands of police involved violence, around 250,000 a year or so, 600 dead maybe, according to some commies at U of Chicago.

Traffic stops are more dangerous for police than civilians; the number of halfwits who start violence over traffic violations is rampant.

Criminal records don't come up (unless there's a warrant) during traffic stop, just anything traffic related.

Like I said, 98% of cops are good. but there is that 2%...

Far less then 2%. It's tough to get away with anything these days. A lot of people are just scofflaws and are going to snivel about cops no matter what. The danger of being shot by a cop is something like 0.002% for normal people, snd even that depends on how much of an asshole you are, making idiotic threats and such.

I don't see what's funny.

2% isn't bad. That's 2 out of 100. It's difficult to get young people interested in law enforcement these days and recruitment standards have been lowered.
That said, I have been pulled over a few times during my lifetime, most were professional and you could talk to them, but a few had serious attitude issues. One local cop was a real asshole, and one or two state cops also had an attitude. I was respectful to them all, but my lawyer lit a fire under the local cop's ass in court.
