there is no "sneaking" under this scenario..They can walk right in and make themselves known without being thrown out/prosecuted.

I think this is a pretty complex issue, and the answers aren't black & white. But I also don't think transgender is a mental disorder. I think there are people who are born & genuinely feel like they were born into the wrong gender. And I can't even begin to imagine that.

I think we need to be careful in how we explore these questions - not in a pc way, but in a way that doesn't assume that because people are born that way, they have a greater proclivity toward criminal behavior. Which is why I'm asking what your basis is for that.

i'm not saying that. never have. what I AM saying is that why is it acceptable/preferable to IGNORE that possibility of a person (any person) taking advantage of this new 'civil right' by getting closer to an intended victim, yet try to come up with all kinds of laws and regulations that MIGHT prevent the possibility of someone shooting another in public?

I generally keep my clothes on and just lower my undergarments when I use the restrooms, you go all natural? I have heard of children doing this, but they usually outgrow this habit, I guess you didn't.

Teachers aren't required to use separate facilities, they just generally do use them in the teacher's lounges.

Because people are generally nuts. I have no doubt at all that you're a responsible gun owner. But I've seen road rage & fights that get out of control. It's not a leap of logic at all to assume that if those people had guns, there would be shootings instead of fender benders and black eyes.

It just seems arbitrary to me w/ transgenders: why does the argument about potential criminal behavior come up w/ them, and not with others who use public restrooms? I mean, we have actual former convicts who use public bathrooms. People who are genuinely mentally unstable use public bathrooms. Predators of every kind use public bathrooms. Why does that come into this discussion about transgenders? Because it's easier to identify them than it is to identify those other groups?

most people are logical and rational. you're using a fallacious argument to generalize a whole population based upon the irrationality of a small percentage. something that many of the conservatives are doing with this trans issue.

There are already laws to punish people who commit sexual assaults.

Unless you have evidence that a wave of unique sexual assaults by transgenders is sweeping the nation's toilets, why would you support statist "preventative" legislation, which would presumably be enforced by big government. Using evil police.

Re: the bolded. That might be true where you are. It's not true where I am. Especially in traffic.

It's not the same argument. A gun is specifically designed to cause harm. It makes it easier for those who intend to do harm to accomplish their goal. We know that there have been shootings in road rage incidents, and like I said - it's not a leap of logic to suggest that there would be more if there were more guns present in those incidents.

That's a far cry from looking at transgenders and just saying out of fear of the unknown that allowing them to use a certain restroom might present more of a danger.
