Shusssssss! "secret" NEWS

again with the dishonesty...i never said they wouldn't cover it and bravo already said he was wrong....but oh no, the 5 year old in the room has to keep rubbing in bravo's error

It wasn't an "error" - it was the point of the entire post. He was WAY wrong. It's MSNBC's biggest headline, and there is a big story out by the NY Times, as well.

Face it - you guys are wrong. You're just flat-out wrong. You want to believe some sort of anti-Bush/pro-Obama bias in war coverage that simply does not exist.

It's something hacks do.

Well Peckerhead...I said I found the correct lick with the MSNBCs headline in post 16...
Then you see fit to comment on the linked headline in post 17, ignoring the fact it was in my post immediately before...

Childish to say the least....but if it gets your rocks off, enjoy yourself....the other readers can follow the chronology....as TC would say "its important"

The point is...500 dead in 7 years and then 500 in less than 2...and it finally makes the news....take note, little to no pictures of coffins, flags or bodies under this new CIC.

The comment about MSNBC is really irrelevant & of no consequence.

any rational, non partisan hack can see the difference in media coverage...its not rocket science...all it takes is an unbaised POV

I posted the stats for you guys - you're just ignoring them.

You'd have us believe that huge pictures of coffins and headlines of "We're Losing!" were in the news every day until November of 2008.

They just weren't. When there are milestones now, the news reports it, and reports it well - but in general, there is war fatigue.

As for bravo, this thread is MAJOR egg in your face. It's the front cover of MSNBC right now. It really couldn't be more ironic, or embarassing.

And you know why you can get away with this petty bullshit?

Because your posts are the epitome...the pinnacle...the absolute crowning achievement in civil discourse.

NOT A ONCE have I ever seen you engage in anything other than the most respectful and dignified of discussions.

Therefore, JUST THIS ONCE you get to make up petty bullshit about Onceler.

I never read the rule that said that once you've admitted being wrong, the guy who schooled you had to STFU...care to point it out?

Man, you really are one gigantic partisan tool.

In that case, it bears repeating .....

Childish to say the least..and you're still at it......but if it gets your rocks off, enjoy yourself....the other readers can follow the chronology....as TC would say "its important"

There is no 'rule' Zap....never said there was....and you can be sure he ain't gonna stfu....

but when a poster(me), admits to a mistake in one post and in the very next post his admission is ignored like it doesn't exist...well, ...that just takes a peculiar kind of guy to do that....as a matter of fact, his link did not show the MSNBC headline as he claimed....
I admit to my mistakes and acknowledged his "almost" correction.

but its ok....hes having organisms over it and I'm happy for him....

Yep - I am having "organisms," because it's hilarious. You start a thread about the alleged conspiracy among the liberal media to not report bad war news under Obama, and single out MSNBC....and guess what happens?

lol...onceler is obsessed with finally getting a gotcha moment and he just......can't......let......go

:)

Finally?

I don't have to try for gotchas on this board, and it hardly matters to me. Koolaid guzzlers like you & the bravs get yourselves on a daily, if not hourly, basis.
:clink:

What a drama queer...I mean queen....

Hardly a 'conspiracy" ...but you go sonny....you deserve a climax now and then.....yep...I was mistaken about MSNBC, no doubt about it....:palm:

are you eating microbes out of petri dishes again?

Maybe it is less of a story because these men are dying for a noble and resaonable cause. Instead of a lie.

It dropped due to Iraq going from a 'sure fire civil war will start any day now' to 'crap, the surge worked'

That's sort of a "insert whatever theory you want" kind of rationale. Yurt & bravo think it was just because Obama got elected. You think it was because the surge worked.

Maybe it's because of the primaries, the tanking economy & the fact that people get tired of reading about war after 5-6 years....

I think all of those had a part in why coverage slipped from 2007 to 2008, but it was the effectiveness of the surge that caused coverage to collapse from 2006 to 2007.

Just for the sake of argument, I'll accept that premise. Do you think that's political? Or is it that the news prefers dirty laundry, and it's not as interesting to report success as it is to report bombings, murder & mayhem?

I think without question (IMO) it is due to the dirty laundry/sensationalist aspect more than political with regards to Iraq.

I think with regards to Afghanistan it is more due to the just/unjust difference between Afghanistan/Iraq in terms of us being at war. The media doesn't have the mantra that Afghanistan is unjust. While I still disagree with that assertion with regards to Iraq, I think that adds to why the media is keeping the gloves on more with Afghanistan.

where are the photos of the coffins...the huge media cry about the thousands of deaths...it is undeniable that with obama taking office the coverage of the deaths and 'wars' have decreased and changed drastically in tune...no more do we hear about how we are losing etc...

No government body is stopping photographers from taking photos now. The difference is that bush and the Pentagon banned the practice. Now families are allowed to decide if they want their loved ones' remains photographed.
