I'm not punting anything. YOU said that I claimed Israel couldn't fight Hamas. Which I never said. I said the opposite.

Let's start w/ an extreme position. If Israel could use a targeted nuke to wipe out Gaza....would you support it? You would not. So, there is action that has the goal of ending Hamas that you would not support, because it's too extreme. The ends do not always justify the means.

How far should Israel take it then? I simply do not believe there is no way to take out Hamas without seeing Gaza COMPLETELY fall apart, as it is starting to right now. No electricity, scarce food & water, issues w/ shelter & medical care, et al.

Nice goal post move from no suffering to avoiding Gaza completely falling apart. Even having to evacuate causes suffering.

BTW a targeted nuke wouldn't kill Hamas in the tunnels . They have food and water down there. A targeted nuke would kill human shields who aren't Hamas and spare Hamas.

You're trying for a gotcha, and I'm not going to play.

I already said - I'm not a military strategist. I also said that Israel has a right & is justified to go after Hamas. And I also said that Israel's situation is complex in that regard.
 
If it helps, I should have specified "indiscriminately" on the reprisals. I do accept that there are obviously going to be some civilian casualties and some suffering in a war, as there always is.

But it's how you conduct the war. Are those casualties true "collateral damage" - or are they the result of broader action that could be described as indiscriminate or even targeted?

The conditions right now, to me, are unacceptable.

No it's not complex at all. Israel has a right to defend itself. The filthy animals of Hamas choose to use Palestine civilians as shields. As a result the blood of civilians is solely on their hands. This isnt complex in the least.

No, it's you equivocating under the pretense that the whole of Gaza is not Hamas - when we ALL know it is. Just as the Germans of Berlin in 1945 were Nazis. Did some oppose Hitler? Yeah, a lot did. Does it matter? Not one tiny bit.

Israel will survive as a nation IF and only if they make the price of attacking them costly beyond reckoning. If they fail to extract horror on the people of Hamas so that they cry out against those who provoked the overwhelming power of Israel, then Hezbollah, Al Quds, and every other Jew hating terror group will grind them to dust.
