Sidney Powell Pleads Guilty in Georgia Trump Case

Sometimes it is easier and cheap to just plea guilty to a misdemeanor that to have a long protracted expensive fight with the government who has unlimited resources.

The government is securing "witnesses" to testify against their main target. This is why there were racketeering charges to begin with and why they charged so many. They knew that they could get a few to plea out and turn witness for lesser charges. I think this is number 2 in that number, isn't it?

Wonder if part of the deal was going into the ̶w̶i̶t̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ witness protection program.

Projection. Sounds like you expect others to "suicide" the witnesses like someone we know who said they were (but were not) named after Sir Hillary who climbed Mt. Everest? <wink wink, nudge, nudge, knowha'Imean?>

They will all testify against Trump.

Can you only imagine Donald Trump's legal defense team trying to even present their Defense with so many witnesses stacked against him now?

As, the very best Legal Experts have said all along- DONALD TRUMP HAS NO POSSIBLE LEGAL DEFENSE TO PRESENT!

And, even though he has already squandered millions of his campaign dollars that his suckers keep giving him, to defend himself, by the time his trial comes up, he won't have the money to present his case, much less have the money to appeal any of his convictions.

Donnie is a Goose cooking in the oven, and he is just about done now!

And it all couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! HA HA HA!

Yes, but no need to quotation mark the word witnesses. They were witness to Trump’s lawlessness and now will be in court to testify under oath to it.

I actually would be more surprised than not, if Ken CheeseBro does not seek and take a deal. He would face some jail time but he has to be worried about spending the rest of his life in jail.

And if CheeseBro decides not to then...

You fall for that tripe also? I am sorta surprised, but guess I shouldnt be.

I expect hi to turn as well.

Yup.

it is clear he was All In on the belief that if he opted for a speedy trial there would be no way Fanni and the Judge could make it happen in that time frame and by Georgia law that means you go free and double jeopardy does attach under their Speedy Trial Act.

He can see now that both Fanni and the Judge are fully ready and clearing every hurdle including the insane amount of asinine motions he has been filing hoping to slow them.

He WILL go to court, and now realizing that, the pressure to cut a deal has just amped way up.

I believe that is the purpose of bringing RICO charges

It's too bad she got off so easy.

But at least she'll have to testify against her fellow Trumprats.

That's how prosecutorial terrorism works. They coerce guilty pleas using financial ruin. What Soros and his little dog Willis are doing is coercing perjury against Trump using this form of terrorism.

His defense will be the usual, their lying and the prosecutor is biased against him, that, and with that that Powell is nuts, that no one ever listened to her.

Question becomes do the dominos continue to fall, I believed she is only the second accused to flip

Trump certainly realizes the gravity of his legal troubles, but I doubt he is the least bit concerned with actually going to jail. He knows his army of attorneys and accountants will delay, postpone, and appeal any verdict and even Court procedures out beyond his life time.

In addition, Trump knows Americans don’t take the time to understand litigation and legalities, so if he can sell his legal problems as political witch hunts to a substantial portion of the citizenry it is going to make it all that more difficult for a Jury or Judge to come down with a harsh penalty, especially given the fact he is a exPresident. Trumps pursuing the verdict of public opinion more so than a Jury

Plus, Hurd was correct, Trump is running to stay out of Jail, which makes the 2024 election scary given the ends Trump went to in 2020 trying to keep power and this time he has had three years to plan

Sidney K. Powell, a member of Donald J. Trump’s legal team after he lost the 2020 election, pleaded guilty on Thursday morning to six misdemeanor counts instead of facing a criminal trial that was to begin next week. She was among 19 defendants, including Mr. Trump, who were indicted in August for their efforts to subvert the election results in Georgia.

Ms. Powell, 68, who appeared in a downtown Atlanta courtroom, was sentenced to six years of probation for conspiracy to commit intentional interference of election duties. That is a significantly less-severe outcome than she would have faced if found guilty of the charges for which she was originally indicted, which included a violation of the state racketeering law.

She was also fined $6,000 and agreed to pay $2,700 restitution to the state of Georgia, as well as write an apology letter to its citizens.

Prosecutors said in court that Ms. Powell had given them a recorded statement on Wednesday as part of her plea deal. She has agreed to testify against any of the 17 remaining defendants. Ms. Powell has also agreed to turn over documents in her possession related to the case.
