Slate the latest left wing news site to diss Biden

The author is not wrong in that announcing ahead of time he’s selecting a black woman that he’s doing the nominee no favors. Even if that was the plan all along, if the perception was this black woman was chosen from among all candidates it offers a higher level of credibility.

Two things can be true:

1) people are happy to have a black woman on the court

2) they don’t like/love the way Biden did it

Since there are over a dozen black females that are more qualified than Thomas, Alito, Barrett or Kavanaugh, I'm good.

I agree, but this is a base play that will pretty much offend only people that aren't Biden supporters anyway. It's a win/win. There is a zero possibility that any Democrat won't support whoever is nominated, and it's very likely that some Republicans will join.

I didn't read the article as arguing so much would the nominee get on the court (they will baring something unforeseen) rather how people perceived the nomination and how the nominee themselves is perceived as a result and that it's a disservice to the nominee.
