I am not preaching to you... but you seem to want to whisper to me in PMs nonetheless. you agree with me that 36% stake in a company does not make anyone the "owner". And it certainly does not give them "control". It gives them a voice... but not ownership and not control.

they do own gm and obama has said he will use his ownership to control fundamental corp decisions and in his mind that includes control over how is ceo

Let's get you on record first: are you denying that you claimed that the GM situation was socialism, and that the gov't owned & ran the means of production?

And if I bump a thread where you make such claims, will you come out with the following statement:

I haven't heard anyone say they want some of this pile of shit, especiall Mott. Uncle sam still owns 33% of this dog.
I'm not for centrally planning the economy, especially when the trillions went to the NE sailing association.
 
Obviously the Gov got shares and fired the CEO. They had to protect their investment. The bailout.

If not? GM would have just mismanaged the funds again. They expanded well beyond their means and got caught with their pants down.

I think the Government did good in bailing out GM in one way. Saved alot of jobs, and in the process will be getting a nice return on their investment, plus continued tax flow from GM employees.

The other alternative would have been for FORD to make a pitch at buying out as many GM plants they could(with the help of government funding).

I usually buy foreign, but if I were to ever buy American? It would be FORD!

They came out strong through the entire recession.

and it is still in fact ownership, it doesn't matter if its one share, if you own one share, you own that much of GM
