So now we need a Ballroom?

The tents cost us something, the $250M is from private donors and from Trump.

So the tents cost me more.
With Trump, who knows who is paying, he already has supposed commitments from everyone on everything that eventually turn into duds

You think the Government rents the tents? It doesn’t own the tents? Has outside catering hosts the events?

I'm waiting for trump to show all the itemized donations that will supposedly pay for the monstrosity.
So long as we don't have to pay for it I could not care any less about who donates. I wonder if it will all be ABC and MSDNC from lawsuit money...

You will hear from me if we do have to pay for it with our taxes... like we had to do with Biden's renovation of the room with the cocaine...

First white house of the confederacy...1761151509667.pngIt is of my belief, the reason Trump has made new expanding changes to the current state ball room, its to make way for the flowing gowns his mops will be wearing....behold...TARA....LOL1761151640409.png

Remember when the MAGAt excuse for busting up Congress was because it was "the people's house"? Why is the White House now Trump's house to do with as he pleases?

Do you know the original purpose of the East Wing?
It's a space to provide lodging for guests at large events. What we saw, especially recently, was events had to be done only at certain times of the year due to inadequate space for the actual events and the use of the lawns and tents instead. While y'all pretend that nobody has ever suggested this, large events were limited in scope and time due to inadequate facilities.

He claimed his administration would be the "most transparent in history." :ROFLMAO:
It is. I wish previous administrations let the press question the President directly as often as this guy does... If that were the case we'd have gotten rid of the braindead before it finally became obvious to even the leftist apologists during a debate.

With Trump, who knows who is paying,

Donors, including himself, AFAIK.

Like what?

Don't you know how to use a search engine, Anchovies?

The White House relies on large, custom-built tents for major outdoor events, such as state dinners, receptions, and summits, when indoor spaces like the East Room (capacity ~200 seated) are insufficient.

These tents are erected on the South Lawn or Rose Garden and include high-end features like climate control, reinforced flooring, chandeliers, and sidewalls to accommodate 500–900 guests.

Based on accounts from former White House staff and public reports, the cost for a single such tent setup typically exceeds $1 million per event. This figure covers rental, delivery, professional installation, and basic teardown but excludes ancillary expenses like lighting, furniture, catering, or security enhancements, which can push the total well over $2 million for a full event.
  • Breakdown of typical costs (estimates derived from industry standards for similar high-end event tents, scaled to White House specifications):

ComponentEstimated CostNotes
Tent rental (if needed) (e.g., 90' x 200' frame tent with clear roof)$500,000–$800,000Custom engineering for security and aesthetics; daily rates for standard tents start at $100–$1,000 but scale dramatically for government-grade setups.
Installation/labor (including flooring and HVAC)$200,000–$300,000Requires specialized crews; setup can take 1–2 weeks.
Ancillaries (lighting, sidewalls, etc.)$200,000+Bulletproof or reinforced materials add premium pricing.
Total per event$1M+Recurs for each use (e.g., 10–15 major events/year).

"The two-story East Wing was added to the White House in 1942 primarily to cover the construction of an underground bunker, now known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC). Around the same time, Theodore Roosevelt's coatroom became the White House Family Theater. Later, offices for correspondence, calligraphers and the social secretary were placed in the East Wing. Eleanor Roosevelt employed the first social secretary."

so trump is doing nothing new or evil?

is that fair to say?

When's "the most transparent administration in history" going to show us ALL the Epstein documents? How about trump's REAL physical and mental health challenges, not the puffery put out by his toadies?

KJP recently claimed that the braindead was constantly engaged with the press. I'll see if I can find the post on X.

If that were the case we'd have gotten rid of the braindead before it finally became obvious to even the leftist apologists during a debate.

I think you're giving them too much credit.

Which changes nothing at all of what I have stated in this thread.

Things we paid for:

Obama's basketball courts (built over tennis courts that were used by Bush and other Presidents (you know, historic and stuff).
Truman's reconstruction. (literally the entire building was gutted, only the exterior walls remained, the ENTIRE building).
The Rose Garden.
The Press Briefing Room (installed over a pool we paid for).
Nixon's Bowling Alley.

Thing we did not pay for:
The outdoor pool financed by Gerald Ford personally.
The tennis pavilion, completed during Trump's first term was also financed by private donations.
This Big Beautiful Ballroom.
