"Ten year old Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel has brain and spine cancer, but he's not letting that slow him down at all. To help raise awareness of childhood cancer, the Houston boy set a goal earlier this year of being sworn in as an honorary police officer at 100 law enforcement agencies. This morning, we joined several other local agencies in helping him achieve that goal. After taking the oath of office in a special ceremony at the Bi-State Criminal Justice Center, Chief Schutte presented DJ with a certificate of appointment and a badge pin.
We found his personality and his laughter to be infectious and are thankful for the opportunity to have gotten to meet him today. He is a fine young man, and we wish Officer Devarjaye Daniel the best in everything. Welcome to the TTPD family.
