For the first time since Jimmy Carter money market accounts are actually becoming a good investment! There are ones now that pay nearly 5% and that is rising. If you have spare cash you can make a safe and tidy profit off them right now. They are better than bonds or T-bills too because they are quasi-liquid meaning you aren't tied to a fixed period of investment.

It is an indication of just how bad the economy is becoming...

I could take the time to tell you how it happened, but you would cross your fingers and close your eyes. Teaching you is a waste of time. Gramm allowed personal savings to be used in banker gambling, It broke down the Glass Steagall regulations that protected us since the 1930s. After Gramm got it passed(it was late at night) some Dems said it was a terrible mistake and they hoped it would not go bad. It did.

Exactly. That is why I said both sides are incorrect when they call Democratic programs socialist or when Democrats praise the social programs (Social Security) as socialist. That is why I said both sides have destroyed the meaning of the term when they use it.

Social Security is socialism (communism). It was created by Democrats.
The Federal Reserve is socialism (communism). It was created and converted into it's current form by Democrats.
Medicare/Medicaid is socialism (communism). It was created by Democrats.
The CPSC is socialism (fascism). It was created by Democrats.
Theft of land and resale to others, as Jackson and Harry Reid did, is socialism (communism). Created by Democrats.
The NEA is socialism (communism). It was created by Democrats.
The DOE is socialism (fascism). it was created by Democrats.

ALL of them are unconstitutional.

Socialism is the forced taking of wealth for redistribution. It does not produce any wealth. It is theft. It exists in every nation, typically implemented by leftist parties (like the Democrats).

Socialism comes in three major forms: communism (government ownership of markets), fascism (government manipulation of markets), and slavery (theft of labor).
ALL three forms are supported by Democrats.

Money market accounts were making almost 5% in 2007.

Communism is not a form of socialism. Communism is a political system for which socialism is an economic system integral to communism. Socialism is an economic system based on all economics textbooks.
