What do you see as contradictory in what I have written.

I've already shown you what is contradictory about what you have written.

I always enjoy the season, including the playing of the anthem. I guess for far different reasons than you apparently do.
I think a strike would be awesome though...I'm not giving up hope;) What an exciting season that would be!

For years and years BEFORE Kaepernick started the kneeling thing...I lobbied for ending the playing of the anthem at all sports events. These things have become a horror show...long before the current events. Some of the renditions are gross...more of an insult to the anthem than a player kneeling.

There is not going to be a strike...so you are going to have to be satisfied with your disdain for black players without that helping you.

Relax Frank-I won't bother you anymore;)...this is not about my "disdain for black players", but that's pretty hilarious....a strike really would be fun, though...
Don't wait for the playing of the anthem to go away. If they don't "play it" the crowd will just take over and sing...
Will that be "egg on your face"...sorry...couldn't help that...Ok, I'm done.

I have every expectation that some players will try to push their luck. I am not saying that I think that they won't. I am encouraging them to do so.

Here is the bottom line. The NFL is a business. They are in the business of playing football, not social justice. If these actions are interfering with the product and turning off viewers their business will suffer. That is why the rule change was put in place. If the players want to push it, by all means let them try. I encourage it.

The last thing the NFL wants is attention for this anthem stuff. If they do it, Trump will call attention to it like he did last year. He won then and he will win again. But, hey maybe you subscribe to the theory that if you keep doing the same thing over and over and keep getting the same result you should keep on keeping on.

I applaud it.

Let me ask you, do you kneel at events where the national anthem is played? I have been to many and have not seen one single solitary spectators kneel. Why do you think that is?

Oh, it's more insidious and dark than mere "disdain." It's nice of you however to give the poor needy thing some attention by responding to "her" cries.

Good point about the mangling of the Anthem. Remember Roseanne's horrible screeched version?

Hoping that ppl lose their jobs because they disagree with their POV is such a great conservative principle, isn't it?

The only thing the abomination Donald Trump has done...is to make this problem MORE OF A PROBLEM.
As I said, he tends to fight fires with kerosene.

I am expecting an increase in protesting...not a decrease. I expect different kinds of protesting...and perhaps the participation of some fans...and probably some disturbing, perhaps even violent results.

The NFL may be a business, but you are giving the notion of protest short-shrift.

We'll see...and I am looking forward to it.

I have never done it...although I have been known to tear up a bit when it is played as part of a ceremony for an American winner at the Olympics. Mostly I dislike the anthem being sung...the "stylizing" mostly sucks. And I don't think it is an especially inspiring melody. The Russian and German anthems are majestic. The Star Spangled Banner does not come even close to them in what I consider proper anthems.

Nope. The fans RESPECT the flag, that's why they stop going to the games when the players shit all over it.

If they do it again, maybe we can put them out of business altogether.

They claim that the demonstration during the anthem has nothing to do with disrespecting America, or veterans. Then why not prove that you mean it and pick another time to protest? Actually, Kaepernick stated that he wasn't going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color...that sounds like he doesn't respect America....and therefore vets....

So, in your respectful and humble opinion, anyone who disagrees with the protests is "anti-American trash"?
Whatever issues that people may face these days, and there are many, it's important to stand together to show respect to America....the majority feel that the anthem is one of those moments...
How long has this controversy been going on....it's creating more problems, not solving anything....
