A noun is a subject.

"A Mexican woman" is a subject.

"Woman" is known to be an female adult 18 or over.

A pronoun is also a subject.

"She" refers to "a Mexican woman".

'She was quite beautiful.'
'She was very young.'

Both refers to the Mexican woman in question, which is an adult woman.
