Sorry to disapoint... no double dip, and now this!

Well some economists did predict a double-dip recession. Fortunately they look to be wrong. I would rather economists be predicting good news than bad but just because these economists are predicting a robust 2011 unfortunately doesn't just make it so. Hopefully they will be proven correct.

As of today though we still aren't seeing the new jobs that are needed (unfortunately I know on this one) and the issue of the deficit hasn't just disappeared (multiple Economist issues have excellent stories on this).

How's it going, anyway? Are you still keeping kind of busy w/ the part-time stuff?

Good luck in the new year. I hope this economist is right, and that improvement is more robust. People have to start working again...

Hey, thanks Onceler. Yeah still doing some property management and one off leasing assignments to get some cash flow but nothing permanent yet.

Actually have a good opportunity with with an investment fund but the challenge (for me) is most of the money would come at the end of the fund. Hoping to see if I they would give me a draw of some sort.

Anyhow yeah let's hope 2011 is better for all of us.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

The Republicans spent MORE and never had any way of paying for it.
not in 1993
It is Democrats who initiated PAYGO.
and have they ever applied it, even once?

Under Bush II we had Medicare D, the biggest entitlement expansion in Medicare history. But the major beneficiaries were big pharma and insurance cartels who sucked the money out of taxpayers to 'administer' the program. Bush forbid Medicare D from negotiating drug prices like the VA does. Guaranteeing it nailed the elderly and filled the coffers of corporations.
???...which was modified into a disaster to meet the demands of the Democrats.....the original intent was to help low income seniors.....it turned into a subsidy for everyone earning less than $100k a year, and THAT was at the insistence of Democrats.....

wow...that you claim to have not seen any chart like that shows you really do have blinders on for your party....here is one that is constantly paroded around, there are others as well....perhaps you ought not be such a partisan all the time and call your side out once in a while

are you sure Onceler wasn't the one who posted it?....sure seems familiar....

There was no 6 or 12 month fix to the kind of crash we experienced while Bush was President.

Would I like to be further along? Sure. There are still a ton of people out of work.

But we have turned the corner, and the outlook is improving with each passing month. We're on the right track, which frankly, is a relief. We were teetering pretty close to a double-dip and even a depression.
"the kind of crash we experienced while Bush was President."?

Get over yourself sonny....The Bush economy was Great...with a capital G...
For 7 years it was great, even with the catastrophe of 9/11, and if not for the sorry ass performance of Fanny and Freddy, because of you know who, (Even after being warned that failure was coming)...it would have been flawless..and we would not be in half the trouble we have ..

I was never afraid for my country in my life except for when Jimmy Carter was president, economywise.......those years were the worst.....
I've lived with times of higher unemployment and times of higher inflation and times of just more worry and despair of the people in general..., but those years still stand out....
I'm not saying it was Carters fault...there are just some circumstances that are beyond the control of Presidents...it was just a bad time....
Interest rates hit 19%, unemployment was about 9%, inflation was about 14 or 15%...it was scary....

Did the crash happen under Bush....or not?

I'd be curious about a "no" answer to that one.

And I forgot; even though Bush was President and the GOP controlled Congress during most of his years, Congressman Barney Frank wielded all of the power. Thanks for the reminder on that.

Link???

The original intent of Medicare D was to give private corporations a government tit to suck on, and suck money from taxpayers by switching the poor from Medicaid to Medicare D.

Do you remember Congressman Billy Tauzin, R-La., who steered the bill through the House, retired soon after and took a $2 million a year job as president of Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), the main industry lobbying group?

The "kind of crash we experienced in the waning months of the Bush Administration" pale in comparison to how much worse it grew in the Obama Administration.....

Pinheads will come to realize, someday, that Presidents DO NOT control the economy of the country....presidents don't even come close to the power the Congress has over it....

please tell me you don't need a link to verify that seniors with incomes up to $100k qualify for prescription drug assistance.....do you actually live in this country?.....

ah, I find I must correct it though......this year they adjusted it to increase the premiums for singles earning more than $85k and couples earning more than $170k....

Top economist are predicting a robust recovery in the coming year. Job creation will lead the way.

So, if it was as bad as you guys said........ No chance of recovery, no new jobs, deficate going to kill us, socialism killing the American dream, almost certian double dip....

You must admit the Presidnet seems to have done a GREAT job leading us through without all the doom and gloom that was predected!!

Look at the amazing economic changes two years have brought to us.... no double dip... and a robust recovery!

Sorry, Lets hope you can avoid sour grapes.

I know you can't spell for shit, and that's normally fine, but this is a particularly bad one that you really should reconcile.

Sounds like someone overdid the fiber? The deficate is going to kill us?

Good catch, Beefy. I have gotten so fluent in typo and misspelled words I missed it completely.
