we do run US Naval forces thru -and China usually objects -but we tell them too bad, and there is a lot of high wire tensions.

From what I understand it is mineral rights at stake here -not just sea lanes ( rights of passage)
 
Let the nations with competing claims work it out. The Republic of the Philippines just elected a "Trump".

We don't need to get involved.

Yep, about the money... They see it up for grabs, small, weak countries unable to project enough might to enforce their own claims.. So why not, free stuff??

My comments regarding China are clear- if you take the trouble to actually read the post- and the comparison with international inaction with regard to Israel's territorial crimes is perfectly valid.

People don't realize the extent of the rot that support for Israeli crime has engendered. YOU- for example- cannot possibly stand up and condemn China's actions while supporting Israel's identical actions- and neither can anybody else. As I said , act on it or sit back and enjoy the hypocrisy fest.

And if you don't want to keep hearing about Israel's crimes then DO SOMETHING about Israel's crimes- because censorship surely ain't going to work.

It is actually amazing what has happened in Olongopo after the US Navy left and the Pinoys turned it into a free trade zone. The criminal element that virtually ran the place in th 80's is gone. It's now a thriving trade center. Lots of entrepreneurs from the US are setting up shop there.
