He tried to overthrow the government. He's mobilizing and already deploying federal armed forces. It tracks that someone like you would consider him a benevolent ruler, but he's not merely trolling. Ask Bannon.

What it "came to" when "he left" was him FAILING on all attempts to not leave.

We have now seen the immense and anti Constitutional pressure he put on Mike Pence, to break from the Constitution, destroying it, as a way to stay in power, but Pence held his ground and that failed.

We all then witnessed as he incited his mob that attacked the Capital, to disrupt the count, in the hopes of pushing it beyond its Constitutional timeline (ala, Brooks Brother rioters in Florida) to try and force the certification to a Contingent Election, were he would have won via a partisan vote.

So yes, "he left" once every attempt he tried to break the Constitution and keep power failed and that was with a VP and DoJ and House and Senate that would not cooperate with those direct actions and his attempts to steal it.

This time he has ensured his DoJ and his Congress are already captured and subservient to him. His minions have diligently been putting in place at as many district levels as they can, election deniers as the people who will make the key calls on voters. And he has a Ice quasi military force who can and will harass people trying to vote in lines by accusing them of being illegals and creating hours longer delays to vote and potentially who will be ordered to seize voting machines to deny those counts in the same way the Brooks Brothers riots denied the counting of those votes.

So YES, as long as all those efforts and more fail, he will leave. But make no mistake, he will try them all.
