State's Rights

SF, you're reading too much into the OP, in my opinion. Darla can correct me if I'm wrong here, but she's not saying that "libertarians are responsible for this." She's saying that this is an example of why the Libertarian philosophy on state's rights would not work.

I appreciate everyone trying to make Sf see that he's being a dick, but trust me he wants to be a dick. I put him on IA (temporarily) until his epic, now weeks long, temper tantrum is over.

It doesn't matter.

Again... what Libertarian philosophy is not working here? The city is investigating the two sides evidence/claims. The state is. The Fed now is. While this does appear to be pretty clear cut and I do believe the police should have arrested Zimmerman pending the investigation's conclusion... tell me... why does the Fed have to be involved? It doesn't. I have no problem that it is. But to proclaim that the local and state governments have failed their duties is a bit absurd. That said, given the history of the city's police department the Fed presence can be justified.

Bottom line, to proclaim Libertarian philosophy led to this or to pretend that this case somehow negates that philosophy is absurd.

Hilarious.

What is hilarious is that you didn't bother to read my posts before jumping in the middle of it. Darla is the one that posted that minorities and most women wouldn't vote for a Rep. Which left one of two possibilities...

Either the city was run by Dems or that Darla was wrong. Something that clearly went sailing right over your head.

Hilarious.

LMAO... temper tantrum? You make absurd claims and proclamations and yet I am 'being a dick'?

Fuck you. Run back to Cypress. (there, NOW I am being a dick)

Which level of government do the libertarians control? It isn't the city, state, or the federal government. There is zero possibility of them being "to blame" for the man not getting arrested.

I mean... At which level of government did these people elect libertarians for us to blame?

Wow - they're right; you really are determined to dumb this one up.

It's not what Libertarianism is doing NOW, SF. It's why the Libertarian philosophy would NOT work with regard to state's rights, if you & yours ever win the day. Because if this was up to the locals, a man would get away w/ murder.

Get it?

That's not what I am saying. Read Onceler's posts. I have a headache and can't explain this anymore. He has it right.

Actually, no. I caught your post on that. That was the post that was so stupid it practically drools.

Wow, you are jumping right on their retarded bandwagon aren't you?

how long does a murder investigation take? As I stated, the locals should have arrested him while the investigation was ongoing given what they knew.

But again, how long does a local city have before the state should intervene? The expectations on your part seem quite absurd. I would be willing to bet we can find a lot of cases throughout the country where the state didn't intervene right away in a local murder investigation. In this case, the locals seem to me to have more than enough to put the guy behind bars while they finish their investigation. But it is sheer idiocy to proclaim 'states rights' advocates would support the guy going free or that Libertarians think the Fed should have NO jurisdiction. It is fucking retarded. Period.

No, you did not. You use a moronic view of what Libertarians believe just as most liberals do.

Libertarians believe in States rights and guns.

Florida's deadly force law allows anyone in a deadly shooting to claim self defense. It is a law that needs to be challenged at the federal level so this type of shootings do not occur. It seems the police were shoddy in their investigation. It seems they were playing judge and jury. The law of the states allow this travesty of injustice.

Ah, I see, so it is you once again coming to defend another democrat regardless of how stupid their position is. So instead of actually acknowledging what she said, you are going to throw a tantrum and run around shouting 'dat be stoopit' and pretend that has some merit.

I'm actually not really discussing what Darla said at all or coming to her aid at all or anything like that. I just read your post and it was the stupidest fucking thing I have read in a while and so I commented on it. Now you can either accept that criticism and let it go or engage with me on it, but nothing is going to change the fact that the comment was stupid.

True.

Florida's deadly force law allows anyone in a deadly shooting to claim self defense.

True. Key words... SELF DEFENSE. Zimmerman was in his car when he called 911. 911 told him not to follow the kid. Even if we assume Zimmerman was telling the truth and the kid came towards him rather than the other way around... Zimmerman was still IN HIS CAR. The kid had no weapon. So exactly why would Zimmerman get out of his car if he was afraid? This is why he should be in jail while the investigation is taking place. His story makes as much sense as Darla's attempt to proclaim states rights advocates philosophy has failed.

It is a law that needs to be challenged at the federal level so this type of shootings do not occur.

This type of shooting was not self defense. A person should have the right to defend themselves.

It seems the police were shoddy in their investigation. It seems they were playing judge and jury. The law of the states allow this travesty of injustice.

Bullshit. The law was designed for self defense. For them to proclaim this case was (or appears to be) self defense is absurd given that Zimmerman was in his car and Martin was unarmed. So it is the local police that are failing... not the law.

Please... do highlight why you think the comment was stupid. Is it because I was throwing her own words back in her face and you take offense to a Democrat being held accountable?

If you are commenting on my post, but not taking into context why it was said, then you truly are a fucking idiot.
