Saw David the other day, he's taking a GAP year, then on to Harvard. Yep, his parents MADE him take the year off to advocate for gun control and HARVARD MADE him enroll there. You believe that folks, right?

What I fail to understand over and over is that how MANY of us learn lessons along away and how MANY DON'T. Talk about irony. I learned a shitload of stuff EARLY. Mostly concurrent or IN college. It took. And I don't mean facts or formulas or crap to regurgitate for tests. Race, money, misogyny, rules, geography (political kind)--did I mention money (?) and a whole lot of other 'lessons'.

I wish I had known the phrase PUNCHING DOWN decades ago. Pithy and descriptive. Oh the words I wasted.
