Stop and Frisk Smacked Down, Violated the Rights of New Yorkers

Awesome, isn't it? But sorry the judge didn't just stop it. Hopefully the oversight works.

n the latest study of stop and frisk policies, in which law enforcement randomly stop individuals for questioning even if they aren’t engaged in criminal activity, researchers found that those who were stopped were more likely than those who were not to engage in delinquent behavior later on.

thousands of people had their rights violated, basic and fundamental constitutional rights, and nobody gets punished. yeah, held to a higher standard LOL

U.S. District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin wrote that ‘no person may be stopped because he matches a vague or generalized description — such as male black 18 to 24 — without further detail.’

It's a step towards ending it .. and any step that says you can't stop people based on a vague description is a good step.

Im waiting to see if the Republicans are going to bitch about this "liberal activist judge".

A judge has ruled that the NYPD's controversial use of the stop-and-frisk tactic violated the rights of thousands of New Yorkers, The New York Times reports. Judge Shira Scheindlin's decision Monday called for a federal monitor to watch over the police department to ensure cops are in compliance with the constitution.

When did New Yorkers start being concerned about their rights?

When did New Yorkers start being concerned about their rights?

One example would be the mandate that people purchase health insurance. Which is tyranny.

Even after the law was passed, they voted for the same marxists that mandated this on them.

They also vote for people who want to take away their right to defend themselves with a gun.

I could go on, and on, but as I said before, "when did New Yorkers start being concerned about their rights"?

the only way the right gets what they want in this issue is to be able to deny people care.

how does that work in the real world?

tyranny?

everyone uses the healthcare system.

everyone who can pay should don't you think?

The issue is, "the federal government is telling people they have to buy something, or they will be fined/persecuted".

And I had great health insurance until shortly after the law was passed. Now I have none. Specifically because of the law.
