I've taken several breaks over the last couple of decades, Guille. I got started in the late 1990's...at a truly quality site...ABUZZ, a site owned jointly by the New York Times and the Boston Globe.

None of the shit that goes on here was allowed; the discussions were interesting and intelligent...and then things started to head downhill. Trolls took over and were almost impossible to contain.

The newspapers withdrew support...and it went belly up.

I've gone from place to place since then...and I've had lots of hiatuses.

I enjoyed the vacations from this stuff, but fact is, I enjoy damn near everything in life. (Even in a perverse way, the rotten golf of this year.)

I acknowledge I dread the thought of Republicans keeping control of the House. Even the bravest of them seem unwilling to stand up to the excesses of Trump.

Under any circumstances, if the House remains in GOP control...that means that Trump's hand is mightily strengthened...and as a guy who posts using his real name, my best move would be to abandon ship. I will never post using an alias...so a GOP win effectively means I'm finished with the forums.

We'll see.
