Stunning Shocker: Left-Wing Site Unearths Video of Romney Speaking Like Conservative!

payroll taxes don't pay for government services.....at least they weren't supposed to, though the tendency seems to be to "borrow" them to actually do so instead of using them for what they were intended for....

Here is where he began Dixie. He is claiming that unemployment insurance, medicare and social security are not government "services," I guess. I am not sure what sort of Orwellian definition he is using but he has not given a coherent one and it's not the one used by the SSA.

In the case of Medicare, for instance, the basic idea consisted of a plan for a new Government service for the American people--health insurance protection under social security. For this reason, a full discussion of the Medicare debate must begin with the origins of the idea.

The arguments you guys offer are nothing but misdirection and childish games. You get hung up on some semantic nonsense and pretend that your distinctions without a difference mean everything. They mean nothing.

There is nothing remotely moderate about the republican House, nor is there anything remotely moderate about Ryan's budget .. which Kemp would not have approved of, nor would he have approved of his plans for SS .. and if Kemp were still alive and in office he'd get a primary challenge from a Tea Party candidate like Ryan.

Good thinking on Ryan's part to refuse to give up his seat while trying to be the VP.

This Christmas he'll still have a job.
Maybe not....I think he's been exposed!

Yes. That is what I said. They are among the 47%.

Among WHAT 47% percent? The 47% voting for Obama? I doubt all combat vets are voting for the Big O!

Now I don't know what kind of tax break we might give to people serving in combat zones, but the fact of the matter is, military personnel DO file and pay Federal Income Tax. I know this for a FACT! These are not the people Romney was talking about when he specifically described those who feel they are entitled to government assistance. Most military people I personally know, do not believe government is supposed to be there to buy their condoms and wipe their ass. For the most part, they are very personally responsible individuals who can take care of themselves without the help of government.

I see what he is arguing and I agree with him and not you. Again, you've posted a nice link, but it doesn't make your point.

Unemployment insurance is something done at the state level, with limited federal government assistance. The same is true with Medicare and Medicaid. Social Security is a program we established to provide retirement pensions, which we all contribute to through our employers. Our benefits from SS are dependent upon our contributions. This is not an "entitlement program" in the context we generally use this phrase. You can parse the language and pervert it into one, but the same can be done for the US Military, the EPA, the FDA, the IRS, and presidential vacations! They can ALL be CALLED an "entitlement" through manipulation of semantics, which is what you seem to be wanting to do here. The point is, they are NOT what the rest of us understand as "entitlements."

Among the 47% you refer to as "deadbeats". Among the 47% that did not pay or have no tax liability. Among the 47% Romney said he could not reach. He said many other things about them as well.

Yes they file taxes. Are you really this stupid? Every one of the 47% mentioned by Romney filed.

Fica and futa are federal payroll taxes. Quit shooting pmp in the face.

Ah... so all the military people in combat zones are Obama supporters Romney can't reach? Is that what he said, you think?

Yeah, that is what he said. He said he could not reach the 47% that filed and owed no tax liability.

Not as bad as calling them deadbeats, like you did.

I don't think anyone is stupid enough to believe all combat veterans are Obama supporters, even YOU!

I didn't call them anything, YOU did.

Ibviousky Romney is not only stupid enought to believe it, he's stupid enough to say it .. and you right-wingers are stupid enough to try to attack democrats about what Romney said while the republican establishment is attacking Romney for being so goddamn stupid for saying it.

.. go figure

Romney is stupid enough. And you are sooooooo stupid you did not even catch what he said or WHY it was being criticized. Maybe if you stopped.... uhhhh.... let's say..... daydreaming about how he looks in jeans you would be able to follow along. YOU called them "deadbeats."

Audience member: For the last three years, all everybody's been told is, "Don't worry, we'll take care of you." How are you going to do it, in two months before the elections, to convince everybody you've got to take care of yourself?

Romney: There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. And I mean, the president starts off with 48, 49, 48—he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. And he'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean that's what they sell every four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people—I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the 5 to 10 percent in the center that are independents that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or the other depending upon in some cases emotion, whether they like the guy or not, what it looks like. I mean, when you ask those people…we do all these polls—I find it amazing—we poll all these people, see where you stand on the polls, but 45 percent of the people will go with a Republican, and 48 or 4…

lol....we agree with each other, young lady......you're namesake may have been an excellent shot, but you're no marksman....

Dixie, does not or maybe he is just confused from daydreaming too much.

He thinks Medicare and Unemployment are state level government services (1/3s or whatever newspeak label you guys want to use). The level was never relevant to anything, except that you two are attempting to weasel out of of the gross ignorance you have displayed. In his state of delirium, Dixie keeps falling face first into the mud and shooting you in the face.

I am up in a stand lmao.

But Romney did not say what you and the liberals are running around claiming he said. YOU are interjecting soldiers and SS recipients, which he clearly wasn't talking about.

Riddle me this, trailer folk... If Romney was "speaking like a conservative", why are senate and house GOP running for cover when asked about his 47% comments?
